The latest college football top 10 rankings from Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt are here following Week 5 of the season. He had some big changes across the board.

Of course, Klatt kept his No. 1 team the same as the Ohio State Buckeyes won again. Could the defending champs actually run the table and win it all again?

In any event, there was plenty of action across the board this weekend. So let’s dive into Klatt’s latest rankings, which show significant movement from last week.

1. Ohio State

Ohio State remained at the top of Klatt’s rankings this week following a win over Washington. It was the first true road test for the Buckeyes and they passed.

Not only are they the best team in the Big Ten, based on most rankings, they’re the top team in the country. They don’t play Oregon in the regular season though, although there could be a meeting in the Big Ten title game.

2. Oregon (+3)

Speaking of the Ducks, Oregon beat Penn State in State College during Penn State’s white out game. The overtime thriller happened after Penn State came back from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

But, the Ducks had the last laugh with another excellent performance from QB Dante Moore and Dillon Thieneman’s game-winning interception. They vaulted up Klatt’s rankings.

3. Miami (-1)

Because of Oregon moving up three spots, Miami dropped a spot in Klatt’s rankings. The Hurricanes were off this past weekend as well.

Florida State, which dropped out of Klatt’s top 10, will welcome the Hurricanes this coming weekend. A win here and it might be time to pencil in Miami as ACC champs.

4. Texas A&M (NR)

Welcome to Klatt’s top 10 Aggies! Texas A&M edged Auburn 16-10 at home and actually moved up to No. 6 in the AP Poll.

This team has something cooking right now and for a very deep SEC, Texas A&M is a real player. Mississippi State and Florida come to town the next two weeks.

5. Texas (+5)

Despite having the weekend off, Texas jumped back into the top five of Klatt’s rankings. The Longhorns were helped by the virtue of a lot of movement elsewhere.

Arch Manning had a great bounce back game against Sam Houston State and if he keeps it up, Texas is suddenly back in the title picture. It’s almost as if people have forgotten about this team, at least temporarily.

6. Ole Miss (NR)

Ole Miss made a move into the Klatt top 10 this week after beating LSU, knocking the Tigers off this list. The Rebels never trailed after taking a 10-7 lead and showed off a complete effort.

Lane Kiffin saw good offensive production from QB Trinidad Chambliss and the defense shut down Garrett Nussmeier and crew. Ole Miss is 5-0 going into a bye week.

7. Indiana (+2)

Indiana followed up a beatdown of Illinois with a controlling 20-15 win at Iowa. So, the Hoosiers moved up two spots in Klatt’s rankings this week.

Fernando Mendoza threw his first interception of the year, but still threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns. The Indiana defense stepped up vs. Iowa after the Hawkeyes put up 38 points the previous week at Rutgers.

8. Alabama (NR)

Alabama is in the top 10 this week after being on the outside looking in just a week ago. Klatt was impressed with the win over Georgia, a second straight one for Kalen DeBoer.

The Crimson Tide somehow did this with great defense in the second half because they were shutout on offense in the third and fourth quarters. Ty Simpson played well though, throwing for 276 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for one.

9. Penn State (-5)

Penn State dropped five spots after this weekend with a loss to Oregon. James Franklin lost another AP Poll top 10 game, falling to 4-21 at Penn State.

Drew Allar was picked off in the second overtime after leading a comeback in the fourth quarter. Safe to say, this one was gut wrenching but they’re still in the top 10 of Klatt’s rankings.

10. Georgia (-7)

Georgia nearly dropped out of Klatt’s top 10 rankings this week with the loss to Alabama. Still, the Bulldogs are very good and had an off day offensively.

Gunner Stockton came back down to Earth in this one, but there’s still a lot of football to go. But, this loss by Georgia certainly shook up the SEC race.
