College Wrestling rankings: InterMat updates all 10 weight classes after Week 5
The latest NCAA wrestling rankings from InterMat are here now that Week 5 of the regular season is in the books! InterMat ranks No. 1 to 33 in all 10 weight classes.
The Cy-Hawk dual between Iowa State and Iowa highlighted the weekend. The Cyclones won for the first time in two decades! So that shook things up.
So without further ado, let’s dive into the latest batch of in-season wrestling rankings from InterMat. We start at 125 by getting a look at the Top 10 in each weight.
125 lbs.
1. Vincent Robinson, NC State
2. Luke Lilledahl, Penn State
3. Nic Bouzakis, Ohio State
4. Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech (+1)
5. Sheldon Seymour, Lehigh (+1)
6. Dean Peterson, Iowa (+1)
7. Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State (+1)
8. Jore Volk, Minnesota (-4)
9. Nicolar Rivera, Wisconsin (+1)
10. Stevo Poulin, Iowa State (-1)
There was a bit of a shakeup in InterMat’s top 10 at 125 as Peterson beat Poulin, getting payback for last year’s Blood Round. Volk also drops, despite his 11-2 record and this weight continues to be wild!
133 lbs.

1. Lucas Byrd, Illinois
2. Ben Davino, Ohio State
3. Zan Fugitt, Wisconsin (+3)
4. Evan Frost, Iowa State (+2)
5. Drake Ayala, Iowa (-2)
6. Tyler Knox, Stanford (+1)
7. Jacob Van Dee, Nebraska (+1)
8. Dominick Serrano, Northern Colorado (+1)
9. Dillon Campbell, Virginia Tech (+1)
10. Braxton Brown, Maryland (+1)
With Ayala losing to Frost in the Cy-Hawk Dual, InterMat changed things up this week. Otherwise the top 10 is pretty much the same. Lehigh’s Ryan Crookham was removed from the rankings due to injury rumors/concerns.
141 lbs.
1. Jesse Mendez, Ohio State
2. Sergio Vega, Oklahoma State
3. Brock Hardy, Nebraska
4. Anthony Echemendia, Iowa State (+2)
5. Zeth Romney, Cal Poly
6. Dylan Ragusin, Michigan (+2)
7. Ryan Jack, NC State (+4)
8. Aaron Nagao, Penn State (+2)
9. Julian Tagg, South Dakota State (+3)
10. Nasier Bailey, Iowa (-3)
Another Lehigh wrestler, Luke Stanich, was removed from InterMat’s rankings right now due to inactivity. So others moved up as Bailey lost to Echemendia, causing a shakeup. Ragusin is still in here despite not wrestling yet, so that’ll be something to monitor in Ann Arbor.
149 lbs.
1. Shayne Van Ness, Penn State
2. Kaleb Larkin, Arizona State (+2)
3. Lachlan McNeil, Michigan (+2)
4. Jaxon Joy, Cornell (-1)
5. Cross Wasilewski, Penn (+1)
6. Chance Lamer, Nebraska (+1)
7. Ethan Stiles, Ohio State (+1)
8. Koy Buesgens, NC State (+1)
9. Ryder Block, Iowa (+1)
10. Paniro Johnson, Iowa State (-8)
Johnson drops from No. 2 to 10 after losing to Block in their dual. Iowa State could have a change at that weight though. Intermat’s top 10 at 149 features two 10-0 guys in Wasilewski and Lamer right in the middle. Van Ness and Larkin are still the cream of the crop here.
157 lbs.

1. Ty Watters, West Virginia
2. Landon Robideau, Oklahoma State
3. Vince Zerban, Iowa State
4. Daniel Cardenas, Stanford
5. Brandon Cannon, Ohio State
6. Antrell Taylor, Nebraska
7. Kannon Webster, Illinois
8. Rafael Hipolito, Oklahoma
9. Gavin Drexler, North Dakota State
10. Logan Rozynski, Lehigh
No changes at 157 this week, but Zerban looked really impressive in the Cy-Hawk dual. He is now 4-0 on the season but everyone is chasing Watters right now. This will be a fun weight to see get fleshed out.
165 lbs.
1. Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State
2. Ladarion Lockett, Oklahoma State
3. Mikey Caliendo, Iowa
4. Joey Blaze, Purdue
5. Matt Bianchi, Arkansas-Little Rock
6. Hunter Garvin, Stanford
7. Max Brignola, Lehigh
8. Braeden Scoles, Illinois
9. Andrew Sparks, Minnesota
10. Paddy Gallagher, Ohio State

InterMat didn’t change up the top 10 of 165 this week either as Caliendo looked dominant as usual, but Mesenbrink and Lockett top the weight as of now. Scoles is still at No. 9 despite being 4-3, it’s been a tough schedule.
174 lbs.
1. Levi Haines, Penn State
2. Simon Ruiz, Cornell (+1)
3. Matthew Singleton, NC State (+1)
4. Patrick Kennedy, Iowa (-2)
5. Carson Kharchla, Ohio State
6. Christopher Minto, Nebraska
7. Danny Wask, Navy
8. MJ Gaitan, Iowa State (+3)
9. Lenny Pinto, Rutgers (-1)
10. Garrett Thompson, Ohio (-1)
Kennedy falls a couple of spots here after losing head to head to Gaitan, which swung the dual in Iowa State’s favor. The latter is now 5-0 and enters the top 10, which moves Pinto and Thompson down one spot.
184 lbs.

1. Angelo Ferrari, Iowa
2. Aeoden Sinclair, Missouri
3. Max McEnelly, Minnesota
4. Rocco Welsh, Penn State
5. Jaxon Smith, Maryland
6. Dylan Fishback, Ohio State
7. Brock Mantanona, Michigan
8. Silas Allred, Nebraska
9. Zack Ryder, Oklahoma State
10. Isaac Dean, Iowa State
Ferrari is still the top dog after grinding out another win, this time over Dean, and is now 6-0 on the season. That was the noteworthy result as the top 10 for InterMat stayed the same at this weight.
197 lbs.
1. Josh Barr, Penn State
2. Rocky Elam, Iowa State
3. Stephen Little, Arkansas-Little Rock
4. Massoma Endene, Iowa
5. Mac Stout, Pittsburgh
6. Joey Novak, Wyoming
7. Bennett Berge, South Dakota State
8. Justin Rademacher, Oregon State
9. Cody Merrill, Oklahoma State
10. Camden McDanel, Nebraska
Barr might make his debut Friday against Drexel or he might not. We don’t know! Elam is 4-0 and just beat Endene, handing the latter his first loss of the year. But InterMat didn’t shift the top 10 this week as we turn the calendar to December.
285 lbs.
1. Yonger Bastida, Iowa State
2. Isaac Trumble, NC State
3. Nick Felman, Ohio State
4. AJ Ferrari, Nebraska
5. Taye Ghadiali, Michigan
6. Ben Kueter, Iowa
7. Nathan Taylor, Lehigh
8. Konner Doucet, Oklahoma State
9. Luke Luffman, Illinois
10. Cole Mirasola, Penn State
No changes at heavyweight this week. Bastida remained the top dog and beat Kueter in the dual this weekend. Trumble and Taylor still have yet to make their debuts this season, so hopefully the fans can get those before too long.
