Dante Moore injury update: FOX broadcast gives concerning news on Oregon QB

Oregon is spending the latter stages of Saturday’s game against Wisconsin without starting quarterback Dante Moore. An apparent nose injury took him off the field and into the medical tent. To this point, Brock Thomas has remained in the game and possibly will close things out.
The FOX broadcast provided an update on Moore, saying he initially emerged from the medical tent with his helmet on. However, the cameras caught him standing on the sidelines while the Oregon offense was out on the field. No official word on what his injury might be either.
“After Dante Moore took that hit, he went to the tent to get evaluated,” the broadcast said. “He was in there for over 15 minutes getting looked at. After that, he came out of the tent with his helmet on but as you see, has not reentered the game. So, it’s the Brock Thomas show right now.”
No matter who has been out there at quarterback, Oregon cannot be too happy with the offensive performance. Moore only attempted 15 passes, completing nine of them for a total of 86 yards. If he does not get back into the game, it will be the first time Moore does not throw a touchdown all season.
Long-term questions come into play when dealing with these scenarios. Thankfully, a bye week is next up and Oregon will have time to rest up. Not just Moore but other players on the roster too. Nov. 8 will be the next time the Ducks take the field, heading to Iowa for a Big Ten showdown.

Brock Thomas getting a chance to play quarterback for Oregon
Dan Lanning has multiple options out there to be Oregon’s backup quarterback. Thomas is the guy after Moore’s injury, though. Not a situation to take lightly, considering Wisconsin is a conference opponent and the score remains tight. As it turns out, Thomas worked hard enough to earn the opportunity to be behind Moore.
“Dan Lanning talks about rent being due each and every week,” FOX said. “Brock Thomas is a guy that earned his way to be the backup quarterback, worked his way up the depth chart, with how he practices. That’s why he’s getting this opportunity out there right now.”
