SEC Media Days are in the rearview mirror. Now, the conference is turning its attention to practice and the upcoming 2025 season, which should be one of the most competitive in the conference’s recent memory.

Ahead of the season, analyst David Pollack shared his prediction for the 2025 SEC Championship Game on his show, See Ball Get Ball. There, he was able to quickly predict the Texas Longhorns would be in for the second season in a row.

“I’ll pick one because this is easy,” David Pollack said. “Texas. I think Texas is in.”

Texas is going into its second season in the SEC. That’s after the Longhorns made it to and lost the SEC Championship Game in the program’s first season in the conference. Now, they’re looking to build on that with Arch Manning at quarterback.

Despite jumping to share his Texas prediction, David Pollack was slow to pick a second team in the SEC Championship Game. Eventually, he landed on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Interestingly, he passed on picking the Georgia Bulldogs, his alma mater and defending SEC Champions.

“Man, I feel like if I’m gonna go to the next team. I do feel like Bama sits pretty good this year from a schedule standpoint,” Pollack said. “From a weapons standpoint, from an experience standpoint. Do I have question marks about them? Yeah, but I have question marks about everybody.”

Following SEC Media Days, a media poll was released for a preseason conference ranking. There, Texas was ranked first and Alabama third. Georgia came in second between the two. Still, besides those three, schools like LSU, South Carolina, Florida, and Ole Miss are knocking on the door in the conference. Other contenders could also surprise the experts, like South Carolina was able to do in 2024. So, it is a wide open conference race.

“So, I’m thinking Texas and Bama will play for the SEC Championship,” Pollack said. “But I don’t think — I have no doubt saying that neither one of them are going in undefeated. Like, not a chance in Hades are they going in undefeated. And we’ve seen that a shoot ton in this league. We’ve seen a ton of Georgia, Alabama, undefeated. We’ve seen LSU undefeated. Like, we’ve seen a lot of that. I’m ready to put that stamp down right now. Ain’t nobody going into that title game undefeated.”

The SEC Championship Game is scheduled for December 6, 2025. Once again, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will host the game.
