DJ Waller injury update: Kentucky DB not dressed despite not appearing on availability report

Although he was not listed on Kentucky‘s availability reports this week, defensive back DJ Waller Jr. is not dressed out for Saturday night’s game against No. 21 Texas.
Waller has not played since Kentucky‘s season-opener against Toledo. Over the span of seven career games with the Wildcats, Waller has recorded 14 tackles.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops seemed confident in getting his talented DB back earlier this week.

“Hopefully we’ll get DJ Waller back,” Stoops said during this week’s edition of ‘The Mark Stoops Show‘. “That’s one of our big guys that has some great length at corner. Hopefully he’ll be back at full strength, he was out there today. He looks good.“
Without Waller Jr. for the fifth consecutive game, Kentucky will rely on senior DB JQ Hardaway and Waller’s backup sophomore DB Quaysheed Scott to patrol the secondary. The Wildcats defense ranks second to last in the SEC in yards allowed per game (402.2 YPG) and third to last in the SEC in points allowed per game (27.8 PPG).
