The Ole Miss Rebels are hitting the road to Athens. There, they’re set to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in one of the biggest games of the week, not just in the SEC but the entire country.

Both teams are coming off slow starts a week ago in games they ended up winning. For Ole Miss, they let Washington State hang around with them in Oxford. Georgia, meanwhile, had to come from behind to beat Auburn in their rivalry matchup. Now, they’re both excited for a Top-10 matchup on Saturday.

Ahead of that game, both teams released their availability report on Thursday. It’s the second of the week, and gives a little bit of insight into where both teams are currently standing in regard to their health.

For the time being, Ole Miss seems to be in a fairly comfortable place health-wise. On the Wednesday injury report, they hadn’t yet felt the need to rule anyone out for the Georgia game. That isn’t to say nobody is banged up, but it’s a good sign.

The quarterback position has been under a microscope for head coach Lane Kiffin to manage this season. After the initial starter Austin Simmons went down with an injury, Kiffin turned to backup Trinidad Chambliss, who took the season by storm. Simmons has widely been seen as available, though not 100 percent healthy since then. At the same time, it appears Chambliss has won the job regardless of health. Of course, that could always change again in the second half of the season.

Georgia, unlike Ole Miss, already ruled out several players. That included offensive lineman Malachi Toliver. However, the Bulldogs do seem to be getting healthier on that side of the ball too. As of Wednesday, both Juan Gaston and Earnest Greene were listed as probable, a major boost for a unit that’s been short on depth for most of the season.

The skill positions have taken a few major hits this week for Georgia, though. That includes multiple wide receivers, to go along with tight end Ethan Barbour, who has now been ruled out for this week.

There is, of course, plenty of time for player statuses to change. After all, kickoff isn’t until 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday.
