Emmett Mosley injury update: Latest on Texas wide receiver ahead of Ohio State

Texas wide receiver Emmett Mosley is questionable ahead of Saturday at No. 3 Ohio State, sources tell On3. The Stanford transfer joined the top-ranked Longhorns this spring but has been working through an injury in training camp.
In Wednesday’s SEC teleconference call, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said he is limited this week. A standout as a true freshman in 2024 at Stanford, Mosley posted 48 catches for 525 yards and six touchdowns in only nine games. The wideout put together his best performance against Louisville, posting 13 catches for 168 yards and three touchdowns.
Quarterback Arch Manning will still have other options on Saturday at Ohio State. Ryan Wingo is coming off a 29-catch freshman season and continues to build chemistry with Manning. Wingo finished 2024 with 472 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Longhorns also return DeAndre Moore, who had 39 catches for 456 yards a year ago. True freshman Kaliq Lockett will also be a factor in the Texas passing game.

Eventually, Mosley will get back out there to become a key part of the rotation. For now, an injury is keeping him from fully participating.
“For him, the growth is going to be as the season continues to go,” Sarkisian said of Emmett Mosley earlier this week. “I always think back to Matt Golden last year, where, going into the season, I don’t think I even fielded a question about him before the first couple of games. By the end of the year, he was the topic of discussion. His evolution as the season goes on is going to be really important as he gets more and more comfortable with us.”
Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday in Columbus at Noon ET on Fox.
