ESPN College GameDay: Picks for Week 5, Oregon at Penn State

ESPN brought College GameDay to the White Out in Week 5. They’re in Happy Valley this morning, ahead of the massive Big Ten showdown between Oregon and Penn State.
There was a myriad of games GameDay could’ve ended up at, with Alabama at Georgia and LSU at Ole Miss contending for the honor. The show decided to highlight the Big Ten this time around, and there weren’t many arguing the selection. It was a a wild atmosphere.
Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and Celebrity Guest Picker LaVar Arrington are ready to lock in their predictions. Check them out in full below, and see if you agree with their commentary for Saturday’s top showdowns.
ESPN College GameDay Picks for Week 5:
Oregon at Penn State: Arguably the biggest game of the entire season, and the whole crew was decked out in white ahead of the White Out. Howard got it started with the Ducks, but Saban, Arrington and Herbstreit brought the crowd back into it with the Nittany Lions. McAfee capped it off with Penn State as well.
Alabama at Georgia: No pick from Herbstreit, as he’s on the call for this seismic SEC showdown. Only Saban is rocking with the Tide, as everyone else is locking in Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.
LSU at Ole Miss: Brian Kelly and Lane Kiffin may be polar opposites, but both of their teams are dangerous entering Week 5. The Tigers are underdogs — Saban and Herbstreit believe they pull the upset.
Auburn at Texas A&M: Jackson Arnold is looking to bounce back in a big way in College Station. The whole crew is on the Aggies and Marcel Reed though.
Tennessee at Mississippi State: Joey Aguilar seems like a star in the making, and everything is still in front of the Volunteers. Only Howard thinks the Bulldogs will trip them up.
Notre Dame at Arkansas: Marcus Freeman needs to string some wins together for the Fighting Irish. They have the belief of the GameDay crew. Nobody is rocking with Sam Pittman’s squad.
Indiana at Iowa: Curt Cignetti and Fernando Mendoza have the Hoosiers humming. Only Arrington believes the Hawkers can upset Indiana.
USC at Illinois: An early kick for the Trojans. Can the Fighting Illini bounce back after a demoralizing loss to Indiana? Only McAfee is a believer in Luke Altmyer and company.

Arizona at Iowa State: An easy one for the crew — there’s no believers in the Wildcats. They’re all riding with Matt Campbell’s Cyclones.
Ohio State at Washington: Julian Sayin and the Buckeyes are on the road in Seattle. It may be a tough game for the No. 1 team in the country, but the usual crew is betting against Demond Williams Jr. and the Huskies — they’re riding with Ohio State, sans Arrington.
