Florida vs. LSU odds: Early point spread released on Gators, Tigers

Florida and LSU has turned into one of the SEC’s wildest rivalries over the past decade or two and this year figures to provide similar entertainment, if the early point spread is any indication.
LSU opens as a 13-point favorite over Florida, according to lines released by FanDuel. The over/under is set at 60.5 points.
That’s not a terribly surprising line, given how up and down the Gators have been this season. Their latest was an overtime loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks, at home no less.
After spotting Arkansas 14 points in the first three minutes of the game, Florida battled back at home to ultimately give itself a chance to win. But a bizarre substitution gaffe and subsequent 44-yard field goal miss at the end of regulation sent the game to overtime, where the Razorbacks came out on top.
And the road going forward won’t get any easier for Florida.
Following its game against LSU, Florida will have to take on ranked Missouri and Florida State squads.

But you can usually throw out the record books and the early point spread when Florida and LSU meet, with several wacky and wild finishes in recent years.
LSU has been the better team for much of the year, putting itself in position to contend for the SEC West title through much of the season. Of course, the Tigers will be looking to bounce back after a 42-28 loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.
The Tigers have been the dominant team in the series for the better part of the last decade.
LSU has won four straight meetings in the series, including high-scoring shootouts in the last four games. The Tigers have won eight of the last 10 meetings, so the early point spread also likely reflects recent history to some degree.
LSU won last year’s meeting in Gainesville 45-35.
