Four-Star safety Jayden Bonsu sets official visits

Four-star safety Jayden Bonsu of Hillside (NJ) St. Peter’s Prep has locked in several official visits.

The 6-foot-2, 205 pounder spoke with On3 about each school he is visiting.

Jayden Bonsu official visits: 

Miami (June 3-5): “Ever since Coach Addae left Georgia we got in contact,” Bonsu said. “We hit it off pretty easily being that we are the same ethnicity being Ghanaian we have a lot in common. Miami shows a lot of love and I would like to return that back.”

Michigan St (June 10-12): “They are one of my early offers who shows a lot of love constantly, from the coaches to their fan base,” Bonsu said. “They have me as a high priority on their board. I look forward to seeing how it is out there and how the atmosphere will be like.”

Ohio State (June 17-19): Ever since my unofficial, Ohio State opened my eyes to a lot,” Bonsu said. “I have a great relationship with coach day and coach Eliano so it was a no brainer to take one of my officials to Ohio State. I look forward to converse with players and how their experience is there.”

Texas (June 24-26): “Coach Joseph and the staff has always had me as a top priority,” Bonsu said. “I look forward to seeing what they have to offer there. They always show love and show that they are genuine in my recruitment.”

Physical back half defender with striking power and versatility. Well-built and physically-developed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds. Has good length at safety with arms over 32 inches. Plays in multiple spots for one of the top talent-producing high school programs in New Jersey. Rolls into the box, covers in the slot and plays deep safety at various times. A violent striker who levels ball carriers on impact. Tackles with form, driving through. Shows good anticipation in coverage, undercutting routes. Could potentially grow into a linebacker long-term.

Bonsu ranks as the No. 144 player in the On300. He also tabs in as the No. 12 safety, and the No. 2 player in the state of New Jersey.
