Gary Bryant Jr. injury update: Dan Lanning offers positive outlook for Oregon WR

Oregon receiver Gary Bryant Jr. is still a bit banged up from a knee injury coming out of the bye week. He suffered the injury in the preseason but appeared to make progress in in Week 3, dressing out for the first time all year against Oregon State.
He has still yet to record any stats as he was held out against the Beavers despite dressing out. Ducks coach Dan Lanning offered an update on his progress following Wednesday’s practice.
“He’s down right now,” Lanning said. “We’re working to get him back. Once he’s back we’re gonna be able to utilize him.”
Bryant is a former top 100 recruit from the 2020 class that transferred to Oregon from USC in 2023. He went on to finish fourth on the team in receiving with 30 catches for 442 yards and four touchdowns.
Oregon will hope to get Gary Bryant back from injury soon to join an already stacked group of receivers. Lanning did not give a timetable for the receiver’s return, but seemed optimistic.
The Ducks brought in quarterback Dillon Gabriel this offseason through the transfer portal and are off to a 3-0 start. They rank second in the country in scoring offense and are among the top 20 in passing offense.

The return of Bryant figures to only strengthen that group as they look to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Oregon opens up Big Ten play against UCLA at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Dan Lanning offers injury update on Dave Iuli
Offensive lineman Dave Iuli has also yet to play this season after suffering a foot injury in the spring. Lanning updated his status as well, giving him a similar outlook to Bryant.
“Same thing,” the coach said. “Continue to evaluate him every single week and once we can use him, we will.”
Iuli is a junior who played in all 14 games for the Ducks a year ago in a reserve role. We’ll await updates on the status of both prior to kickoff against the Bruins.
