The 2023 Heisman Trophy finalists were revealed ahead of the ceremony. The award show is set for December 9th.

This was a wild year for quarterbacks and other talented players and while there were many candidates, only four could make it. But again, only one wins it and this is surely going to be a long conversation.

Let’s dive into the four finalists for the 2023 Heisman Trophy.

Jayden Daniels, QB – LSU

Stats: 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 72.2% completion percentage, 1,134 rushing yards, 10 rushing touchdowns

Daniels had a season for the ages. Unfortunately, LSU lost three games and missed out on the SEC Championship Game.

However, Daniels can’t be faulted. He did everything he could and put together a career year. Not since Joe Burrow has an LSU quarterback been this good. Being a finalist is much deserved.

Marvin Harrison Jr., WR – Ohio State

Stats: 67 catches, 1,211 yards, 14 touchdowns, 18.1 yards per catch

Harrison Jr. was clearly the best wide receiver in college football and it wasn’t particularly close if you look at the big picture. He made the Ohio State offense go when it couldn’t and he very well be a top draft pick, as in top five.

He had a great season and is one of the best receivers in school history. But the question is was his season more impressive than other players on this list? That’s to be determined.

Bo Nix, QB – Oregon

Stats: 4,145 yards, 40 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 77.2% completion percentage, 228 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns

Nix didn’t end the regular season with a Pac-12 title and a College Football Playoff appearance, but there’s no doubt he turned heads this year. What felt like a season-long Heisman campaign came to fruition as he was named a finalist.

Nix could be a high draft pick and he led Oregon to the New Year’s Six, don’t scoff at that. And hey, 40 touchdowns looks pretty good too!

Stats: 4,218 touchdowns, 33 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 65.9% completion percentage, three rushing touchdowns

Penix Jr. had the time of his life this year, going 13-0 with the Huskies, winning the Pac-12 title and getting to the College Football Playoff. After leaving Indiana, many wondered if he’d be the same.

Well he wasn’t, he was better. Penix Jr. balled out last year and even more so this year with bigger stakes. He earned an invite to be a Heisman finalist and could end the year as the winner as well as a national champion.

Now that the finalists have been named, it’s a debate between talented players as to who should win the biggest individual award in the sport. All deserving but only one will stand above the rest.
