On the final day of the 22nd Annual Hoop Hall Classic, the event directors allowed selected media members to vote for the event’s All-Tournament team. A ballot titled Spalding All-Showcase First Team was given, and the media had to write in five names from the five days and the 54 games played, which signifies their top performers.

As with every list or ranking, every person’s criteria can be different. For me, I went with the five players whose performance moved me. Whether stepping up in the clutch like Liam McNeeley and Cameron Boozer or bringing pure electricity to the court like Tahaad Pettiford and Jahlil Bethea did. Then you have Kentucky signee Billy Richmond who took an individual matchup head-on and dominated it.

Let’s discuss my Spalding Hoop Hall All-Showcase First Team and lay out some other notable performers from the event.

My Spalding Hoop Hall All-Showcase First Team

4-star SG Jalil Bethea (Miami)

Height/Weight: 6-5/185
High School: Warminster (PA) Archbishop Wood
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 7

The Buzz: Jalil Bethea put on a scoring display in his Hoop Hall Classic game. His 40-point game was an event high, but how we went about the 40 put him on this list. Bethea is a lengthy 6-foot-5 (might be pushing 6-foot-6) wing. He has soft touch with deep range, and the ability to self-create. Bethea’s jump shot was working as he finished 8-15 from beyond the arc. He played off that jump shot, getting into the mid-range and going 11-23 from the field. And, like any accomplished scorer, he got to the free-throw line, going 10-10 in the game. It was a performance they will continue talking about after the event ends.

4-star SF Liam McNeeley (Indiana)

Height/Weight: 6-7/205
High School: Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 15

The Buzz: The featured game of the five-day, 54-game Hoop Hall Classic was Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy vs. Napa (CA) Prolific Prep. The matchup that was being publicized was 2024 No. 1 ranked Cooper Flagg against 2025 No. 1 ranked AJ Dybantsa. And both players performed well, however, it was four-star wing Liam McNeeley who stole the show. The 6-foot-7 Indiana signee was aggressive in looking to score, however he did not let his aggression turn into recklessness. McNeeley was 8-12 from the field and 4-5 from three. He moved the ball and relocated to find open space to make his shots. He was also the one who knocked down the two free throws that sealed the 76-71 victory for the No.1 team in the country. Under the brightest of lights in the high school game, McNeeley finished with 22 points.

4-star PG Tahaad Pettiford (Auburn)

Height/Weight: 6-0/160
High School: Jersey City (NJ) Hudson Catholic
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 23/

The Buzz: It was a tale of two halves for Tahaad Pettiford in his Hoop Hall Classic game, but his second half was one of the most electric performances of the high school season. Pettiford scored at each level of the floor, elevating high for dunks, pulling up for mid-range floaters, and knocking down pull-up jump shots from 20 feet and beyond. In all, Pettiford finished with 29 second-half points, finishing the game with 33 total. He finished an efficient 12-14 from the field.

Five-Sar Plus+ PF Cameron Boozer (2025)

Height/Weight: 6-9/205
High School: Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 2

The Buzz: There are no frills with Cameron Boozer’s game. He simply shows up, clocks in, and goes to work. In Boozer’s first game of the event, he finished with 26 points in 26 minutes played. The 6-foot-9 forward added seven rebounds, five blocks, and four assists in the come-from-behind victory. Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus was down heading into the fourth quarter and won by 19. Boozer’s team trailed in the fourth quarter in the second game as well. In that one, Boozer’s shot was not falling like normal. Even while finishing 4-11 from the field, his defense and rebounding dominated play. Along with his 14 points, Boozer added 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and four blocks in the win.

4-star SF Billy Richmond (Kentucky)

Height/Weight: 6-6/200
High School: Camden (NJ) High
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 21

The Buzz: Billy Richmond had one of the most talked head-to-head matchups in the 22nd annual Hoop Hall Classic. The Kentucky signee matched up with Duke signee Isaiah Evans. Not only are the two committed to the bluest of blue bloods, but Richmond, a 6-foot-6 small forward is the No. 25 player in the 2024 On3 150, and Evans, also a 6-foot-6 small forward, is No. 28 in the rankings. At the 10:30 AM game on Saturday, Richmond dominated the matchup. He finished with 26 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals while going 4-5 from three. Defensively, he also held Evans to 7-21 shooting, earning his ranking.
