Hugh Freeze berates official vs. Arkansas: 'He suplexed the s**t out of him'

Auburn‘s game against Arkansas has been a frustrating one for head coach Hugh Freeze, mainly with the quarterback situation. Freeze has not been too happy with the officials on a few calls, even no calls. One, in particular, that occurred during the fourth quarter sent the Auburn head coach into a frenzy.
As Taylen Green rolled out to his right, Arkansas running back Ja’Quinden Jackson was in pass protection against the Auburn rush. Finding an unblocked defender, instead of a normal block, there was a move Freeze described as a “suplex” to the officials.
No flag was thrown and Freeze’s face nearly matched the color of his shirt when yelling at the official. His pull-back coach brought him back to the sideline but did not lower the level of anger. An expletive may have come out of his mouth as well when complaining.
Likely emotions bubbling over for Freeze in what’s trending to be a tough loss for Auburn against Arkansas to begin SEC play with a loss. You can check out the full moment here.

Unfortunately for Freeze, there was no penalty on the play and Arkansas was able to keep the yardage Green was able to accumulate on his run. Frustration was certainly there as Auburn attempts to pull off a come from behind win in front of their home fans.

There is still time for the Tigers to get there, needing for the offense to step up after a quarterback change.
Hugh Freeze makes Auburn quarterback change at halftime
Hugh Freeze was quick to make a quarterback change for Auburn following the loss to Cal, turning to Hank Brown. Payton Thorne was previously the guy but spent the New Mexico game and the first half of Saturday vs. Arkansas watching from the bench.
This was until Brown threw three interceptions as Auburn went scoreless through two quarters at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Freeze felt strongly enough to make another change. It’s Thorne who has taken the field to begin the second half against Arkansas, hoping to find a spark for the offense.
“Baffled, perplexed, perturbed,” ESPN sideline reporter Quint Kessenich said as Thorne took the field to begin the second half. “Hugh Freeze when I asked him about quarterback Hank Brown. I said ‘You going to come back with him?’ He said ‘I don’t know.’ So obviously, during the halftime, he rethought this and enters Payton Thorne.”
