Illinois High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 27

The high school football regular season concluded for most teams in Illinois last week, and the top programs in the Prairie State are now focused on the postseason.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Illinois high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 27.

1. Mount Carmel Caravan

The best team in the state had a perfect regular season after a 35-24 victory against Loyola Academy. Mount Carmel is off to the playoffs after a 9-0 record.

2. East St. Louis Flyers

The Flyers remained in the top five despite their 38-14 loss to IMG Academy. East St. Louis scored all their points in the second quarter, and this loss closed their Illinois high school football regular season record to 5-3.

3. Brother Rice Crusaders

The Crusaders closed the 2025 Illinois high school football regular season with a 21-12 win against St. Ignatius. It would have been a shutout victory for Brother Rice if not for the 12 points scored by the Wolfpack in the final quarter.

4. Lincoln-Way East Griffins

The Griffins suffered back-to-back losses after a 21-13 defeat to Carl Sandburg. Despite their defeats to the Eagles and Naperville North, their 7-2 record should be enough to qualify Lincoln-Way East for the playoffs.

5. Maine South Hawks

The Hawks finished the regular season with an eight-game winning streak. Maine South improved to 8-1 after a 56-14 win over Deerfield.
