Indiana vs. Notre Dame weather forecast for College Football Playoff First Round game

It’s going to feel like Christmas during tonight’s first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff home game between No. 7 seed Notre Dame vs. No. 10 seed Indiana in a snow-covered South Bend.
With snow already on the ground, it will be sub-freezing conditions as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s when tonight’s game kicks off at 8 pm ET on ABC/ESPN. It’s also expected to be a bit breezy, with 10-mph winds expected, according to The Weather Channel.
The Fighting Irish social media team posted an early-morning picture of Notre Dame Stadium covered by 2-3 inches of snow that made it difficult to see the white 10-yard markers on the field.
Most of the snow accumulation is expected to take place before 1 pm ET Friday, though the Weather Bug projects “20 percent chance of snow” during a partly clowdy night as temperatures drop into the lower 20s throughout the evening and wind gusts up to 20 mph.
ESPN College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit tweeted a video of him walking a snow-caked South Bend campus with his playful Golden Retriever pup, Peter. Check that out below:

Comedian, actor Shane Gillis named ESPN College GameDay celebrity guest picker at Notre Dame vs. Indiana
It is a busy weekend for ESPN College GameDay as the college football pregame show is taking place Friday afternoon in South Bend, before heading to Columbus to preview Saturday’s action.
ESPN College GameDay has announced that comedian and actor Shane Gillis will serve as the guest picker Friday afternoon ahead of the Indiana at Notre Dame game.
The Hoosiers and Irish are facing off in the first ever 12-team College Football Playoff game on Friday. This is also the first ever CFP game to be played on a school’s campus.
This is obviously a big deal, which is why College GameDay is holding two shows and bringing in a big-time comedian to discuss all of the action. The College GameDay show from South Bend will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
