The latest college wrestling individual rankings are here from InterMat following Christmas and it’ll begin to heat up once we hit the new year.

Coming up are the Midlands Tournament as well as conference duals once we turn the calendar to January. Start shaking off the rust from the holidays because it’s time to get back to the grind!

Let’s dive into the latest from InterMat as we enter the two-month mark of the season.

125 pounds

Lock Haven Athletics

1. Anthony Noto – Lock Haven (1)
2. Noah Surtin – Missouri (2)
3. Dean Peterson – Rutgers (3)
4. Caleb Smith – Nebraska (4)
5. Matt Ramos – Purdue (5)
6. Michael DeAugustino – Michigan (6)
7. Jore Volk – Wyoming (7)
8. Richie Figueroa – Arizona State (8)
9. Eric Barnett – Wisconsin (9)
10.
Cooper Flynn – Virginia Tech (10)

No changes in the top 10 here as Noto remained No. 1. We feel like this weight class has changed drastically each week. Peterson is making a strong push towards the top while Ramos remains dangerous.

133 pounds

Lehigh Athletics

1. Ryan Crookham – Lehigh (1)
2. Vito Arujau – Cornell (2)
3. Daton Fix – Oklahoma State (3)
4. Aaron Nagao – Penn State (4)
5. Sam Latona – Virginia Tech (5)
6. Kai Orine – NC State (6)
7. Chris Cannon – Michigan (7)
8. Nasir Bailey – Little Rock (8)
9. Evan Frost – Iowa State (9)
10.
Brody Teske – Iowa (10)

No changes once again as Crookham remains the top dog at 10-0 on the season. Only Fix has an unblemished record in the top 10 (2-0) while Cannon is just 0-1, but he has previous accolades.

141 pounds

(Joseph Cress/Iowa City Press-Citizen / USA TODAY NETWORK)

1. Real Woods – Iowa (1)
2. Beau Bartlett – Penn State (2)
3. Jesse Mendez – Ohio State (3)
4. Ryan Jack – NC State (4)
5. Lachlan McNeil – North Carolina (5)
6. Brock Hardy – Nebraska (6)
7. Clay Carlson – South Dakota State (7)
8. Tagen Jamison – Oklahoma State (8)
9. Cael Happel – Northern Iowa (9)
10.
Kal Miller – Maryland (12)

The top nine stood pat this week but Miller made a move into the top 10. Maryland is a rising program and the sophomore is 5-0 on the season, making his presence known.

149 pounds

(Joseph Cress/Iowa City Press-Citizen / USA TODAY NETWORK)

1. Ridge Lovett – Nebraska (1)
2. Caleb Henson – Virginia Tech (2)
3. Kyle Parco – Arizona State (3)
4. Jackson Arrington – NC State (4)
5. Dylan D’Emilio – Ohio State (5)
6. Chance Lamer – Cal Poly (6)
7. Casey Swiderski – Iowa State (7)
8. Victor Voinovich – Iowa (8)
9. Austin Gomez – Michigan (9)
10. Jaden Abas – Stanford (10)

The top 10 stayed the same this week with Lovett continuing to dominate this season. He’s 12-0 this year while Henson is hot on his tail. The Virginia Tech standout is 17-1 as we approach January.

157 pounds

(Penn State Athletics)

1. Levi Haines – Penn State (1)
2. Jared Franek – Iowa (2)
3. Peyton Robb – Nebraska (3)
4. Jacori Teemer – Arizona State (4)
5. Brock Mauller – Missouri (5)
6. Ed Scott – NC State (6)
7. Daniel Cardenas – Stanford (7)
8. Bryce Andonian – Virginia Tech (8)
9. Will Lewan – Michigan (9)
10. Vince Zerban – Northern Colorado (10)

Another weight class and another with no changes in the top 10. Zerban should command more respect the rest of the way since he’s 10-0 so far. But everyone’s chasing Haines at the top currently.

165 pounds

(Joseph Cress / Iowa City Press-Citizen / USA TODAY NETWORK)

1. Keegan O’Toole – Missouri (1)
2. Izzak Olejnik – Oklahoma State (2)
3. Julian Ramirez – Cornell (3)
4. David Carr – Iowa State (4)
5. Cameron Amine – Michigan (5)
6. Dean Hamiti – Wisconsin (6)
7. Mikey Caliendo – Iowa (7)
8. Holden Heller – Pitt (8)
9. Derek Gilcher – Indiana (9)
10.
Caleb Fish – Michigan State (10)

Nothing new here either on the latter half of the weight classes. O’Toole is by the far the best wrestler in this weight class, including going up to 174 to beat Illinois’ Edmond Ruth (more on that below).

174 pounds

(Penn State Athletics)

1. Carter Starocci – Penn State (1)
2. Mekhi Lewis – Virginia Tech (2)
3. Edmond Ruth – Illinois (3)
4. Cade DeVos – South Dakota State (4)
5. Shane Griffith – Michigan (5)
6. Peyton Mocco – Missouri (6)
7. Justin McCoy – Virginia (7)
8. Travis Wittlake – Oregon State (8)
9. Carson Kharchla – Ohio State (9)
10. Donnell Washington – Indiana (10)

The top 10 remained unchanged and as mentioned above, Ruth fell to O’Toole as the Mizzou Tiger bumped up a weight in their dual. While the top 10 didn’t change, Army’s Ben Pasiuk dropped from 184 and was plugged in at No. 11 and being ranked No. 25 at his previous weight.

184 pounds

(UNI Athletics)

1. Parker Keckeisen – Northern Iowa (1)
2. Bernie Truax – Penn State (2)
3. Dustin Plott – Oklahoma State (3)
4. Lenny Pinto – Nebraska (4)
5. Dylan Fishback – NC State (5)
6. Trey Munoz – Oregon State (6)
7. Sam Wolf – Air Force (7)
8. Chris Foca – Cornell (8)
9. Will Feldkamp – Iowa State (9)
10.
Isaiah Salazar – Minnesota (10)

The holidays are brutal since there isn’t much chaos. The rankings here did not change and Keckeisen still remains the favorite to win it all here. He and Truax are the only two unbeatens in the top 10.

197 pounds

(Penn State Athletics)

1. Aaron Brooks – Penn State (1)
2. Stephen Buchanan – Oklahoma (2)
3. Rocky Elam – Missouri (3)
4. Trent Hidlay – NC State (4)
5. Jaxon Smith – Maryland (5)
6. Tanner Sloan – South Dakota State (6)
7. Jacob Cardenas – Cornell (7)
8. John Poznanski – Rutgers (8)
9. Michael Beard – Lehigh (9)
10.
 Luke Stout – Princeton (10)

We haven’t seen Brooks much this season, as he’s only 4-0, but the three-time champion is still the overwhelming favorite at this weight. Buchanan has been an absolute stud this year.

285 pounds

NWCA Coaches Association/Tony Rotundo

1. Greg Kerkvliet – Penn State (1)
2. Wyatt Hendrickson – Air Force (2)
3. Yonger Bastida – Iowa State (3)
4. Lucas Davison – Michigan (4)
5. Cohlton Schultz – Arizona State (5)
6. Zach Elam – Missouri (6)
7. Yaraslau Slavikouski – Rutgers (7)
8. Taye Ghadiali – Campbell (8)
9. Dayton Pitzer – Pitt (9)
10. Nathan Taylor – Lehigh (10)

Kerkvliet, like Brooks before him, is just 4-0 this season. Bastida has been the most impressive at 12-0 going up from 197 last year. Watch out for Elam, who’s 13-0 this season. Schultz has yet to wrestle this season.

Another week in the books but the next rankings could change things with Midlands coming up at the end of the month and then conference duals beginning next month. For the full slate of rankings, click HERE.
