Minneapolis (Minn.) Wayzata four-star power forward Jackson McAndrew is down to four schools, he tells On3. Moving forward, the 6-foot-9, 190-pound rising senior will consider Creighton, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

McAndrew has taken official visits to each of his finalists and plans to make a decision within the next two weeks.

Along with his four finalists, he also received offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Stanford, and Illinois.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, McAndrew is the No. 82 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 13 power forward prospect and the No. 1 player in the state of Minnesota. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s evaluators are much higher than the industry on him, ranking him 47th overall nationally.

McAndrew talks finalists

In a previous interview with On3, Jackson McAndrew broke down each of his final four schools.

Creighton: “I really enjoyed myself on the visit. It was great being able to spend more time with the coaches and players and watch the game against UConn. I really like their play style and think it would be a good fit. They play up-tempo, and everyone in the rotation can dribble, pass, and shoot. They are all very versatile. My relationship with the coaches has continued to grow, and I have been hearing from them a lot.”

Wisconsin: “It was a lot of fun and cool to see a couple of practices and spend a lot more time with players and coaches. My relationship has been continuing to grow with them, and I have been talking with them more. I would fit in with the versatility I bring and my shooting ability, also being able to be an all-around player for them.”

Notre Dame: “I really like what Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry and the rest of the coaching staff are doing with the program. I think they are taking it in a really good direction. The school is also very good and cool. I think that I can be utilized very well with my versatility in the system they play offensively and defensively.”

Xavier: “I have gotten to know the staff a lot more, and our relationship has grown. I really like the success that they have been having lately and in the past. Also, I like the way they play and how they would be able to utilize me very well.”

Scouting Report

With Jackson McAndrew it all centers around the shooting, that is his super power. McAndrew stands every bit of 6-8/6-9.m and he has long arms with a very projectable frame. He shot 40-plus percent from three on high volume Nike’s EYCL this summer. The shooting of movement was particularly interesting. He showed great footwork with natural balance. He is able to stay square and slide into space when receiving the pass or pulling up off the bounce. He also has some toughness, despite his skinny frame, getting on the boards. He is a solid team defender and can straight line drive close outs. He will need to continue adding weight, that will take a little time. He could tighten the handle some, continue learning his spots in the half court and getting to them. McAndrew had a very productive past 12 months and he continues to develop at a rapid trajectory. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
