James Madison at Oregon College Football Playoff Thursday injury report revealed
The College Football Playoff is getting ready to kickoff for its opening round. There are several interesting matchups to dive into. Among them, Sun Belt Champion and 12-seed James Madison is making a cross-country trip to take on the five-seed Oregon.
James Madison was able to make the College Football Playoff field as the second Group of Five team. That stems from the rule that the top-five ranked conference champions get into the field, and the ACC Champion, Duke, was unranked. Still, it makes James Madison a major underdog against Oregon. For their part, the Ducks only lost one regular season game but that was enough to keep them out of the Big Ten Championship Game. It didn’t matter. Oregon was still right there as the five-seed, earning an at-large bid.
Ahead of College Football Playoff games, teams are sharing injury reports. The first of those for the James Madison at Oregon game came out on Wednesday. Now, those reports have been updated for Thursday.

There’s a bit of a break for teams coming out of the regular season and into the College Football Playoff. That is always going to help teams get healthy, especially in the case of a team like Oregon, which didn’t play in a conference title game. For the Ducks, it will have been three full weeks between games.
Still, there are plenty of injuries for Oregon to deal with. That includes five players who would be ruled out on the initial Wednesday injury report.

Perhaps the biggest question going forward for Oregon is going to be wide receiver. Two receivers were already ruled out on Wednesday’s report. That went along with three receivers who were listed as questionable. Among the questionable were Gary Bryant Jr, Dakorien Moore, and Evan Stewart. All three have been practicing this week. All starters, Bryant hasn’t played since the Iowa game, Moore missed the month of November, and Stewart hasn’t played this season at all. So, their health could prove to be a massive swing.
That’s particularly true given that James Madison is feeling its injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Already a big underdog, every player lost is another blow that is going to make pulling off an upset that much harder.
There is still time for some changes on the upcoming injury reports. However, the available rosters for each team are certainly coming together quickly. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, December 20th.
