Jaxson Moi, Derion Gullette injury update: Tennessee, Miss State reveal status of key players on Wednesday injury report

The SEC’s under-the-radar game of the week might reside in Starkville. Mississippi State plays host to Tennessee, a matchup we have not seen too many times in recent years. Kickoff from Davis Wade Stadium is scheduled for around 3:15 p.m. CT. Until then, let’s check out where some injuries stand for the matchup.

More on Mississippi State vs. Tennessee, recent results
Both teams were in action this past Saturday, playing another nonconference game. Of the two, Tennessee put together a more comfortable performance, taking down UAB 56-24. Joey Aguilar put together an effective day, throwing for 218 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception on 15 of 22 passing. As usual, the Vols put up nice numbers on the ground, going for 235 yards.
Mississippi State went into the halftime locker room up just four points vs. Northern Illinois. A big second half made sure the result got put away, though. If Heupel walked away impressed with his team’s run game, Lebby certainly can one-up him. The Bulldogs rushed for 292 yards on 49 attempts, only letting Blake Shapen throw 20 times. Fluff Bothwell finished as the team’s leader, passing the century mark by one yard.
You know Starkville will be alive for this one. Mississippi State fans impressed during the Arizona State win, helping inject some life back into the program. Getting a ranked SEC opponent in town only helps the cause. An afternoon kickoff brings a little more juice as well, hopefully building a great atmosphere.
