Kenny Dillingham jokes that viral video of him doing 'The Worm' was made by A.I.

Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham went viral for hitting the worm after Saturday’s win over Texas Tech. Now, the Sun Devils head coach is refuting the video’s legitimacy, claiming it’s A.I.
“That wasn’t even me,” Dillingham joked, first condemning a video being posted from the locker room in the first place. That was A.I. You don’t even know what’s real. That’d be awesome if I could do the worm like that… but AI makes me look cool.”
Arizona State defeated the previously undefeated Red Raiders 26-22. The victory improved the Sun Devils to 5-2 on the season and kept their College Football Playoff hopes alive. Watch the incredibly hilarious moment from the 35-year-old head coach below:
“I do think that the viral moments are good for our brand,” Dillingham said. “They’re good for the culture with our team as long as you can respond from them and understand that once (Monday) hits that it’s over and nobody cares anymore. Like, what do we have to do to get better? How can we improve? Because if we don’t constantly improve, we’re going to have more moments like we saw two weeks ago and not moments like we had this past week.”
Before Arizona State knocked off the No. 7 team in the country during Week 8, the Sun Devils lost in blowout fashion to Utah 42-10 on the road. That halted a 4-1 start to the season for Arizona State, knocking Dillingham’s program out of the AP Top 25 altogether.

The win over the Red Raiders has put the Sun Devils back on track and among the top teams in the Big 12. Looking to repeat as conference champions and represent the Big 12 in the College Football Playoff, Arizona State can’t afford many more setbacks this season — especially in conference play.
Looking ahead, Dillingham and company will host a one-loss Houston squad in Tempe during Week 9. They’ll continue their conference schedule on the road against Iowa State during Week 10 before their bye week. The Sun Devils and Cyclones’ matchup is a rematch of last year’s conference championship game, which went in favor of Arizona State.
Kickoff between Arizona State and Houston is set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday and will air live on ESPN2. The Cougars’ lone loss this season is against Texas Tech on their home turf.
