Earlier this week, Landry Kiffin, the daughter of Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin, revealed she was in a relationship with star LSU linebacker Whit Weeks in a now-viral Instagram post. The announcement sent SEC social media into a frenzy, especially given the timing — it dropped the same week Kiffin’s No. 13 Rebels host Weeks and the fourth-ranked Tigers in a Top 15 SEC showdown Saturday in Oxford.

Landry effectively hard-launched the relationship when she posted a photo of herself sitting on Weeks’ lap with the caption “Happy :)” on Monday.

And while he’s been relatively mum on the relationship, Lane Kiffin has hinted at it a few times already this week, including playfully posting a old photo of Landry as an infant with the caption: “Will be rooting for (the) Rebs!!!” on Monday. On Wednesday, the Ole Miss head coach finally shared his true feelings on his daughter’s new beau, and they were quite positive.

“Whit’s an awesome kid, comes from a great family, and I’m glad that those two are happy together,” Kiffin said Wednesday on the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “It has nothing to do with the game itself. It’s a really great family, and I think a lot of people got to see that on the SEC Special when they went hunting with the family.”

Weeks is a junior middle linebacker and a leader within LSU’s defense who earned first-team All-SEC honors last season after ranking second on the roster with 125 total tackles in 2024. Weeks currently ranks eighth on the team with 11 sacks through the first four games this season, though he only really played three games after a first-quarter targeting ejection two weeks ago against Florida.

Lane Kiffin encourages betting analyst to ‘take the over’ in LSU vs. Ole Miss after viral photo of Whit Weeks, daughter Landry

One betting analyst reacted to Landry’s IG post Monday by suggesting that “the Kiffin household must be in shambles” and suggested fans “take the over” when placing bets on Saturday’s LSU-Ole Miss game. Lane Kiffin playfully responded to the bettor’s tweet with the comment “Take the over.”

According to BetMGM, No. 13 Ole Miss is currently a slight 1.5-point home favorite with an over/under of 54.5 total points, which Kiffin clearly thinks will be too low.

As it stands, Ole Miss is averaging 44.8 points per game having scored 21 total touchdowns in its first four games. The Rebels have scored 30 and 41 points, respectively, against SEC competition so far this season. Meanwhile, LSU’s defense is limiting opponents to just 9.25 points per game while the offense is putting up an average of 35 points per game. The Tigers exploded for a season-high 56 points against Southeastern Louisiana in Week 4. It was the first time that LSU had put up more than 23 points in a game this season.
