The brotherhood of SEC coaches goes through ebbs and flows over the years, as various beefs emerge and different alliances form over key topics like what should happen with the transfer portal, walk-ons, NIL, you name it. Lane Kiffin might have made an additional enemy on Wednesday morning.

The Ole Miss head coach, who is an active presence on Twitter, got hold of a video circulating on social media.

The video is from a Missouri recruiting visit, featuring head coach Eli Drinkwitz rocking a yellow and black guitar with a prospective recruit. Drinkwitz gets into it, shredding the way you’d expect a coach selling out for a recruit to.

But Kiffin dropped the dagger on Twitter, throwing two SEC head coaches under the bus at once.

The BK that Lane Kiffin references, of course, is LSU coach Brian Kelly, who made waves when he first took the job in Baton Rouge for some awkward dancing and finger-pointing with a recruit.

Kelly was the punch line on social media for months, a common gif dropped whenever a good laugh was necessary.

Drinkwitz might now suffer the same fate.

Something tells us, though, that that’ll be just fine with Drinkwitz so long as things keep trending in the direction they have been for his program. Like Kiffin, Drinkwitz is now in charge of a program that has College Football Playoff aspirations as the field expands to 12 teams.

Many have Missouri projected as one of the nation’s best teams in 2024, which also coincides with a fairly weak schedule.

Notably, Missouri will not face Ole Miss on the field this fall, which takes a little sting out of the potential barb for Drinkwitz. And it robs the fans of a potential showdown with some actual beef on the line.

In any case, you have to hand it to Lane Kiffin. He certainly knows how to use social media to create some interesting headlines.
