Lawson Luckie injury update: Georgia TE leaves game after targeting by Jahron Manning

Mississippi State DB Jahron Manning was ejected for a targeting penalty as he hit Georgia TE Lawson Luckie. Georgia led 17-7 at the time of the incident, late second quarter.
Luckie did not have a catch at that point of the game. Georgia QB Gunner Stockton was 10-of-16 for 143 yards and one touchdown in the first half.
A junior, Luckie played in all eight games for Georgia coming into Saturday. He had 10 catches for 81 yards and three touchdowns. Last season, Luckie had 24 catches for 348 yards, three touchdowns and 14.5 yards per catch.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Luckie was a four-star recruit out of Norcross (Ga.) High, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He was the No. 10 overall prospect in the state, the No. 8 tight end in the class and the No. 145 overall prospect in the class.

Luckie was injured and evaluated on the sideline following a massive hit from Manning. But Manning wasn’t the only DB lost for the Bulldogs. Isaac Smith was injured earlier in the first half.
