National Signing Day: ACC classes in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings

National Signing Day is winding down, and the three highest-ranked Atlantic Coast Conference recruiting classes find themselves in the top 25 of the national On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

In order to create the most comprehensive and unbiased team recruiting ranking, the On3 Team Recruiting Rankings is solely based on the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings is the most advanced and accurate team ranking in the industry.

Below is a breakdown of each recruiting class in the ACC:

1. Miami – 92.650

Top Commit: Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott, No. 15 in the On3 Industry Ranking

The biggest news of the day for the Hurricanes was flipping back five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount from Florida State. Blount was once committed to the Hurricanes when he was a member of the 2025 recruiting class.

Miami made another big splash on Monday, flipping its second recruit from Ohio State in the last three weeks. The Hurricanes landed Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star running back Jordan Lyle soon after his officially visited Coral Gables. They also flipped Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott.

Other big recruiting wins this cycle included landing Chicago Kenwood Academy four-star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader and his teammate — four-star safety Zaquan Patterson. Miami also flipped Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Ny Carr away from his in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

2. Florida State — 91.593

Top Commit: Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military four-star QB Luke Kromenhoek, No. 40 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Florida State lost a pair of five-star recruits in Buford (Ga.) Five-Star Plus+ safety KJ Bolden and Miami Central five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount on National Signing Day. It was not the best of days for the ‘Noles, but they remain in the top 15 nationally.

The Seminoles were active on the trail in July, hauling in 10 prospects, none bigger than Venice (Fla.) four-star cornerback Charles Lester III. Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star Landen Thomas is the No. 6 tight end in the cycle, while Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military four-star QB Luke Kromenhoek is the No. 4 quarterback. Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater four-star cornerback Cai Bates ranks No. 101 in the nation and committed to the Seminoles on December 1.

3. Clemson — 91.363

Top Commit: Jefferson (Ga.) five-star LB Sammy Brown, No. 17 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Clemson pulled both of its five-star recruits on consecutive days in the month of June. Jefferson (Ga.) five-star LB Sammy Brown kicked things off for the Tigers before being followed up by Midlothian (Texas) WR Bryant Wesco.

The class also includes Lancaster (Texas) four-star CB Corian Gipson, Woodstock (Ill.) Marian Central Catholic four-star TE Christian Bentancur and Tampa (Fla.) Catholic four-star WR TJ Moore, all three of whom are top-100 pledges.

4. North Carolina — 88.529

Top Commit: Fuquay Varina (N.C.) four-star safety Malcolm Ziglar, No. 123 in the On3 Industry Ranking

The Tar Heels are headlined by Fuquay Varina (N.C.) four-star safety Malcolm Ziglar, the No. 8 safety in the cycle. He alongside Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star wide receiver Jordan Shipp and Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek four-star safety Jaiden Patterson are UNC’s lone top-300 commits.

June was a particularly busy month for North Carolina, reeling in seven commitments.

5. North Carolina State — 88.220

Top Commit: Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star wide receiver Terrell Anderson, No. 139 in the On3 Industry Ranking

NC State reeled in its two highest-rated prospects in August — picking up Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star wide receiver Terrell Anderson on the 12th and Burlington (N.C.) Hugh M. Cummings four-star running back Jonathan Paylor on the 4th. They are joined by Cross Plains (Tenn.) East Robertson four-star linebacker Elijah Groves at the top of this Wolfpack class.

6. Virginia Tech — 87.588

Top Commit: Washington (D.C.) St. Vincent Pallotti four-star linebacker Gabriel Williams, No. 204 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Summer saw Virginia Tech land its two highest-ranked recruits in the 2024 cycle — receiving commitments from Gabriel Williams in June and Virginia Beach (Va.) Green Run four-star wide receiver Keylen Adams in July. Virginia native and JUCO defensive line product Kemari Copeland committed to the Hokies on Monday, the most recent to do so. Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Gulliver Prep three-star quarterback Davi Belfort pledged to the class back in March and is the group’s lone signal-caller.

7. Georgia Tech — 87.480

Top Commit: Warner Robins (Ga.) four-star wide receiver Isiah Canion, No. 218 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Charleston (S.C.) Phillip Simmons four-star cornerback Troy Stevenson is one of thre blue-chip commits for the Yellow Jackets alongside Isiah Canion and Tampa Carrollwood Day four-star running back Anthony Carrie, who picked the Jackets on NSD.

Georgia Tech picked up three commitments in three days in the middle of December — Waxhaw (N.C.) Marvin Ridge three-star interior offensive lineman Kai Greer on the 12th, Peachtree City (Ga.) McIntosh three-star EDGE Uche Iloh on the 11th and Headland (Ala.) three-star athlete Caleb Dozier on the 10th.

8. Stanford — 87.352

Top Commit: Avon (Conn.) Old Farms four-star defensive lineman Benedict Umeh, No. 147 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Stanford picked up a pair of blue chips this summer with the additions of Benedict Umeh and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star quarterback Elijah Brown. Brown is the nation’s No. 14 signal-caller. Miami Christopher Columbus three-star EDGE Dylan Stephenson is the other long top-500 recruit for the Cardinal.

9. Pittsburgh — 86.797

Top Commit: Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside four-star interior offensive lineman Caleb Holmes, No. 267 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Caleb Holmes is the lone blue-chip prospect committed to Pitt in the 2024 cycle. He pledged to the Panthers in June alongside Aliquippa (Pa.) three-star linebacker Cameron Lindsey, Miami Norland three-star linebacker Jeremiah Marcelin, Roanoke (Va.) North Cross three-star offensive tackle Moritz Schmoranzer, Brockton (Mass.) three-star wide receiver Cameron Monteiro, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star cornerback Allen Bryant, Smyrna (Tenn.) Stewarts Creek three-star cornerback Nigel Maynard, Youngstown (Ohio) Austintown Finch three-star cornerback Davion Pritchard and Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic three-star interior offensive lineman Mason Lindsay.

10. Louisville — 86.412

Forsyth (Ga.) Mary Persons four-star running back Duke Watson leads the way in this class, having committed in June. Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes three-star wide receiver Joseph Stone added his name to the group in November, and top-500 Saline (Mich.) tight end Dylan Mesman committed in April.

11. California — 86.390

A pair of JUCO products headline this Golden Bears class in San Mateo cornerback Ja’ir Smith and Trinity Valley safety Isaiah Crosby. Topeka (Kan.) three-star defensive lineman BJ Canady comes along as the highest-rated high school recruit for Cal. The Bears also received a commitment from Seattle Garfield three-star quarterback EJ Caminong.

12. Wake Forest — 86.365

Top Commit: Hiram (Ga.) three-star interior offensive lineman Clinton Richard, No. 524 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Hiram (Ga.) three-star interior offensive lineman Clinton Richard and Fayetteville (N.C.) Cape Fear three-star wide receiver Jeremiah Melvin both pledged to the Demon Deacons in the summer. Marietta (Ga.) Walton three-star quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski is the signal-caller for Wake Forest and committed in December 2022.

13. Syracuse — 86.283

New head coach Fran Brown & Co. have pulled in a number of major transfers in his very short tenure at the helm, but Syracuse has also added some impressive prospects on the recruiting trail. Norcross (Ga.) Wesleyan four-star tight end Jamie Tremble committed back in June and stuck with the Orange. Red Bank (N.J.) Red Bank Catholic four-star wide receiver Emanuel Ross and Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek three-star EDGE KingJoseph Edwards have both pledged to Syracuse since the addition of Fran Brown.

14. Duke — 86.113

Hiram (Ga.) three-star wide receiver Chase Tyler is the lone top-500 recruit for the Blue Devils. Collierville (Tenn.) three-star offensive tackle Robert Bourdon, Upland (Calif.) three-star cornerback Kyren Condoll and Chattanooga (Tenn.) Red Bank three-star EDGE Kobe Smith are additional top-800 commits.

15. Virginia — 84.310

Top Commit: Roswell (Ga.) three-star EDGE Chase Morrison, No. 857 in the On3 Industry Ranking

Roswell (Ga.) three-star EDGE Chase Morrison leads the way for Virginia alongside Burke (Va.) Lake Braddock three-star offensive tackle Benjamin York in the top 1,000. The Hoos also signed Richmond (Va.) Thomas Dale three-star quarterback Ethan Minter.

16. SMU — 83.741

Top Commit: Tyler (Texas) four-star wide receiver Derrick McFall, No. 377 in the On3 Industry Ranking

SMU picked up former UCLA commit, Tyler (Texas) four-star wide receiver Derrick McFall in late November — the biggest commitment for the Mustangs this cycle. They have three additional top-1000 commitments in Duncanville (Texas) three-star safety Ka’Davion Dotson-Walker, DeSoto (Texas) three-star linebacker Brandon Booker and Dallas (Texas) Christian three-star cornerback William Nettles.

17. Boston College — 82.134

Every commit for Boston College ranks outside the top 1,000. McKinney (Texas) three-star cornerback Ashton McShane sits atop the group, with additional commitments from Old Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick three-star interior offensive lineman Jadon Lafontant and Clayton (N.C.) quarterback Johnathan Montague.
