Nic Anderson injury update: Latest on LSU wide receiver
The current fear is that LSU wide receiver Nic Anderson suffered a season-ending injury on Saturday night at Alabama, sources tell On3. Anderson injured his right knee in the third quarter and needed to be helped off the field.
Sources told On3 on Monday morning that Anderson’s MRI came back better than expected, and there is some hope for a possible return. He remains out for the foreseeable future.
The Tigers have three games remaining in the season. After exiting the injury tent in the third quarter, he was taken to the locker room on an injury cart. He returned to the sidelines in street clothes on crutches.
“He was gone from the game, and I think he was going to get some X-rays,” LSU interim head coach Frank Wilson said following the game. “I’m not sure beyond that, though.”

LSU’s loss at Alabama on Saturday night brought the Tigers to 5-4 on the season with three games remaining. The trip to Tuscaloosa marked LSU’s first game since it fired head coach Brian Kelly two weeks ago.
The Tigers have remaining games against Arkansas, Western Kentucky and Oklahoma. It’s unclear who will start at quarterback for LSU moving forward. Wilson benched Garrett Nussmeier in favor of Michael Van Buren Jr. in the third quarter and was noncommittal about who would start next week against Arkansas.
