National Signing Day, at least during the early signing period, has come and gone. And it was quite a doosy.

From Travis Hunter shocking the world and going to Jackson State to the saga that was Kiyaunta Goodwin‘s decision-making process, it was a day full of twists and turns. But it also laid the groundwork for the next few years of college football.

There is still plenty of time left for major shifts in the team and player rankings — and there will no doubt be big changes. But after a memorable National Signing Day, On3’s experts call their shots and give their bold takes on the 2022 class going forward.

Chad Simmons: Texas A&M will finish with the No. 1 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking

I’ve said it earlier, and I will say it again, I like Texas A&M to finish with the No. 1 class in the country. I know there are still big names out there, and of course, updating the rankings could play into it, but Texas A&M will win its first Recruiting title in the modern era.

Gerry Hamilton: Mississippi State and Ole Miss classes are going to perform well above their class ranking

After taking in three days of practice at the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game, studying up and further evaluating the players in these two classes, they are high ceiling classes. There are a bunch of big human beings in these classes that can move the feet. Mississippi State signed the two most undervalued EDGE prospects in the country in Trevion Williams and Avery Sledge. Both will be NFL draft selections. The Ole Miss class has multiple big humans with high ceilings led by On3 Consensus four-star Zxavian Harris. Both schools signed legit speed as well with verified track times. There will be at least 10 future NFL Draft selections from the combined classes.

Charles Power: Oklahoma State’s class is better than it’s ranking

The Cowboys signed six four-star prospects according to the On3 Consensus, but there are several more that On3 is higher on than the industry. The group features five four-star skill players in quarterback Garret Rangel, running backs Ollie Gordon and CJ Brown along with Talyn Shettron and Braylin Pressley at receiver. We’re higher on EDGE prospects DeSean Brown and Jaleel Johnson than the industry. The same goes for offensive lineman Austin Kawecki. I also think the Cowboys got one of the best JUCO prospects in linebacker Xavier Benson and would look for him to make an immediate impact.

Jeremy Crabtree: Luther Burden will win SEC Newcomer of the Year

Five-star receiver Luther Burden will get every opportunity to see the field immediately in Columbia. Missouri need an impact playmaker to do damage at receiver and on special teams, and Burden is just what the doctor ordered. Granted, he’ll need somebody to throw the ball to him, but if the Tigers can find some sort of consistent quarterback play, then Burden has all the tools to terrorize SEC defenses quickly. I also like how the Tigers plan to use him on special teams. I think you can argue there’s no finer special teams player in the 2022 class than Burden. He’s a threat to bring to take it to the house on punt returns and kickoffs
