OT7 Dallas Weekend Two: Top Performers

Top high school football prospects flooded to Dallas this weekend for week two of Overtime’s OT7 tournament in Dallas. The event featured several blue-chip prospects from the 2025 and 2026 cycles.

On3 was in attendance on Sunday. Here are On3’s top performers from the day, headlined by a TCU quarterback commit and top-100 prospect in the On300.

On3 MVP: QB Ty Hawkins — TCU

“Weekend 2 for OT7 had talent all over the field and we were able to evaluate some top-tier talent across all positions. But in 7 on 7, quarterback is king. And no quarterback had a better showing from start to finish than Ty Hawkins. He filled the stat sheet this weekend by scoring nearly 25 touchdowns over the two days and was spraying all over the field. His ability to get the ball up and out quickly with zip on the football allowed him to move the chains consistently by fitting the ball into tight windows and throwing with tremendous timing. He also continuously scorched defenses by throwing absurdly accurate deep balls.

“It felt like every deep throw he made was on the money. He was also able to extend plays with his legs, including a 30+ yard touchdown run to seal the first-round bye going into the single-elimination games on Sunday. Hawkins showed some grit as well as he battled some drops from his wide receivers in crucial moments, including a dropped should-be touchdown in the endzone which resulted in an interception early in the championship game. But, in true Ty Hawkins fashion, he stepped up when his team needed him most and led Miami Raw to the winner’s podium. He is a flat-out gamer. And now, he’s On3’s Weekend 2 OT7 MVP.”

2. WR Vernell Brown III

Vernell Brown was arguably the most consistent playmaker throughout the event. You could call him all sorts of names after the performance he put together this weekend. Chain mover, red zone weapon, ankle breaker, route runner… but the most common name you heard along the sidelines was DUDE. Vernell Brown is just that, a DUDE. His ability to burst off the line of scrimmage and separate at the top of his routes is phenomenal. Plus, he’s a natural pass catcher and ball tracker with plus top-end speed that allows him to be a home run threat on every snap. That combined with his YAC ability after the catch makes him a complete weapon at the receiver position. It felt like every time you heard, ‘Touchdown SFE!’ over the loudspeaker, Vernell Brown was dancing in the endzone with the ball in his hand. In a star-studded group of receivers at Weekend 2 of OT7, Brown was the star that shined the brightest.”

3. WR Dakorien Moore — LSU

“If Vernell Brown was the most consistent pass catcher at the event, then Dakorien Moore had the most splash plays. The Duncanville (TX) standout was making circus catch after circus catch throughout the weekend. Even on passes that were ruled incomplete, it felt like Moore was coming down with every ball that was thrown his way. His change of direction and twitch is truly rare. He wins at every level of the field and has genuinely special ability to go up and attack the football for his size. Even though Grand Elite didn’t go as far in the tournament as they would have hoped, Moore was able to put together a ridiculous highlight reel from Weekend 2 of OT7.”

4. WR Dallas Wilson — Oregon

Dallas Wilson was the epitome of unstoppable when Miami Raw entered the red zone. He had arguably the strongest hands of any wideout at the event this weekend. His ability to stick his paws out and pluck the football away from his frame is outstanding. He is able to catch the ball at the high point and hold it away from the defender with one hand while he’s still falling back to earth like you would hold a toy away from your little brother. Nobody wanted to jump with Wilson. And if they did, they paid the price for it. He is a true X-receiver at the next level and showed that he has the ability to become one of the most coveted pass catchers in the entire country at Weekend 2 of OT7. He has physical and athletic traits that you simply can’t teach.”

5. SAF Anquon Fegans

“The safety group on hand this weekend was extremely strong. But nobody was more clutch, especially in the championship game, than Anquon Fegans. Fegans put together a strong trio of games on Saturday collecting two interceptions and then sealed the championship for Miami Raw in the final on Sunday with two interceptions on the last two drives of the tournament. He essentially shut down half of the field for opposing offenses all weekend long. His ability to cover so much grass and break to the football in the air allows him to make plays all over the field. And his ball skills make turn pass breakups into picks. He was the biggest game changer on the defensive side of the ball all weekend long.”

6. LB Matai Tagoa’i — USC

Matai Tagoa’i is truly a disruptor on the defensive side of the ball in this setting. With his length and ability to diagnose offenses, he is able to close to the football quickly and speed up the game for opposing offenses. Majority of the time he was playing as a single high safety, essentially patrolling the middle of the field all day long. This allowed him to scan the field from sideline to sideline and watch opposing quarterbacks’ eyes in order to make plays on the football. He was also a big factor as a pass rusher as well. He has the speed to close the gap on scrambling quarterbacks, but his length is what makes him a difference-maker because he is able to get his hands on the football near the line of scrimmage batting down multiple passes per game. Tagoa’i’s size and movement skills are special. There is no doubt he is going to be a productive player at the next level.”

7. WR Talyn Taylor

“Midwest Boom had a great run in Weekend 2 of the OT7 tournament and whenever their offense needed a first down or a clutch score, Talyn Taylor was their top target. He was ridiculously shifty and made clutch play after clutch play throughout the weekend. His body control and ability to win at the catch point for his size is fantastic. He has the rare combination of fluidity and twitch that makes him an extremely difficult cover in the intermediate levels of the field. This allowed for him to paper-cut the defense throughout games and then he has the top-end speed to hit them over the top for the occasional homerun ball. He was extremely dynamic all weekend long and he essentially carried the Midwest Boom offense to the semifinals.”

8. 2026 ATH Madden Williams

“The Trillion Boys made it all the way to the championship game in Weekend 2 of the OT7 tournament and offensively they have Madden Williams to thank for that. He was a YAC demon all weekend long and was cooking defenses over the middle of the field. He is such a physical player and you see it in every phase of his game. He’s physical at the line of scrimmage, he has strong hands at the catch point, and he is violent with the ball in his hands. He had multiple scores throughout the weekend where he turned 12-15 yard digs or comebacks into house calls by turning upfield and making defenders miss in a phone booth. Williams was able to pull down a ton of contested catches on both days as well and was a consistent red zone threat. He was truly the engine for the Trillion Boys offense.”

9. SAF Trey McNutt

“Fast Houston didn’t last long on Sunday of the OT7 tournament, but that didn’t stop Trey McNutt from flying all over the field this weekend. It felt like every time the ball was in the air against Fast Houston, McNutt was contesting the catch. He has such good instincts and feel for what receivers are trying to do in order to separate from him. There are times in man coverage where it feels like McNutt is running the receiver’s routes for them. He came down with two interceptions in four games this weekend and a ton of pass breakups. It’s clear that he is one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 recruiting cycle and he proved it this weekend.”

10. 2026 SAF Joey O’Brien

Joey O’Brien popped up for us at On3 at this exact OT7 tournament last year. Only a sophomore at the time, O’Brien was making plays and batting down passes all weekend long in Austin and he continued to do much of the same this weekend here in Dallas. The 2026 safety product out of La Salle (PA) is a complete mismatch in the intermediate parts of the field. His ability to fill space and make plays on the football is genuinely unfair for opposing offenses. With his size and length, he covers more ground than most that allows for him to get a hand on passes that other defenders can’t. He is able to close windows and bat down passes that opposing quarterbacks think are impossible to get a hand on. O’Brien, like Tagoa’i, is effective as a pass rusher as well due to his closing speed and length that allows him to apply pressure on quarterbacks and force incompletions better than most at the position. He has tremendous upside and an extremely bright future ahead of him.”
