Paul Finebaum loves Ohio State, what Buckeyes have shown since Oregon loss
Paul Finebaum loves what he’s seen from Ohio State since the Buckeyes lost to Oregon. Amidst the pain that Alabama’s performance caused him this weekend, he found solace in the rise of Ryan Day’s team.
On Sunday’s SportsCenter, Finebaum sang the praises of Ohio State. Essentially, he serenaded them with lyrics from Baby Come Back by Player.
“Ohio State, we thought we had said goodbye to them a few weeks ago after getting housed by Oregon. Come on back, Buckeyes,” Finebaum said. “You look a lot better. I know Michigan is out there, but I really like Ohio State right now.”
Evidently, Finebaum has been impressed by the recent string of victories by Ohio State. In their last four games, the Buckeyes offense has decided to show up — boat-racing Tulsa, Akron, Rutgers and Maryland.
Finebaum believes Ohio State are back in business, and he has TreVeyon Henderson and C.J. Stroud to thank for. The young Buckeyes offensive duo has been fantastic over recent weeks, especially Henderson.
In their most recent victory against Maryland, Henderson rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns. It was Stroud who was the star against the Terrapins — throwing for 406 yards and five touchdowns in victory.
Next up for Ohio State is a date with the Indiana Hoosiers. If they can get through that unscathed, a game against Penn State could shape the entire Big Ten. Then, the Buckeyes finish their season with back-to-back games against Michigan State and Michigan.

Paul Finebaum has turned back from a doubter to a believer in Ohio State. If the Buckeyes keep playing the way they are now, they’ll turn plenty more people as well. Including those on the College Football Playoff committee.
Paul Finebaum’s Top-Four
While he praised the Buckeyes, Finebaum left Ohio State out of his top-four teams in college football this morning. He’s convinced their back, but perhaps not all the way back.
Moreover, Finebaum’s top-four didn’t feature many surprises — Georgia led the way. After the Bulldogs, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Cincinnati Bearcats and Oklahoma Sooners follow suit.
As the college football season progresses, we’ll see if Paul Finebaum returns the Ohio State Buckeyes to his selections.
