Pittsburgh, former Florida WR Andy Jean to re-enter NCAA transfer portal

Pittsburgh wide receiver Andy Jean will be entering the NCAA transfer portal again. He announced his plans to do so just a few months after arriving on campus.
Jean originally signed with Florida out of high school. But he transferred to Pitt this winter after spending two years with the Gators.
His stint there was short-lived. Jean discussed his decision on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
“I truly hate that I have to make this decision again!” Jean wrote. “But I will be entering my name in the transfer portal. With 3 years of eligibility left.”
Andy Jean also considered Louisville during his recruitment out of the transfer portal in the winter. So it’ll be interesting to see if Jean considers the Cardinals again this time around.
Injuries were an issue for Jean during his time with Florida, limiting him to just five games throughout his two seasons in Gainesville. He had six catches for 97 yards in his career and left hoping to find more playing time and success with Pitt.

That obviously didn’t materialize. But even Florida’s staff seemed high on Andy Jean’s potential as a blazing fast wideout.
“It was good to see him be able to execute and to get some experience,” Florida coach Billy Napier said of Jean during this past season. “I think that’s going to help his confidence. You can just see it. He got a chance to play in the Charlotte game and experience some success. … Andy’s opportunities have been increasing because he’s been preparing better, showing a better grasp, practicing better, more efficient, more productive, performing in practice. We’ve been playing him here the last couple of weeks as a result of that.
“Andy’s role will definitely grow here. … Sometimes a young, talented player, when they experience some success, that kind of fuels the fire, and then they show up to practice a little bit different, right? We’ve got a number of players that are like that. Andy’s a good example.”
Andy Jean played high school football at Miami (FL) Northwestern, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 397 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
