Report: Big 12 Baseball Tournament moving to Arizona in 2026

The Big 12 Baseball Tournament is reportedly moving to Arizona in 2026, per Jon Wilner. It’s a notable change for the ever-changing conference.
“News: Big 12 baseball tournament headed to Arizona starting next year, per source, as part of broader strategy with new geography,” Wilner wrote. It’s been in Texas or Oklahoma since the 1990s.
With the changes in the Big 12, notably Texas and Oklahoma going to the SEC and the conference expanding closer to both coasts, the change makes some kind of sense. However, it’s not a central location.
But with schools like Arizona and Arizona State, the Big 12 is headed west. The conference also features BYU and Utah, as far as westward schools in-conference that have baseball. But, it’ll be long travel for UCF, for example, since they’re on the east coast.
The Big 12 Tournament was hosted at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas since 2022. Oklahoma City was also a host city, as well as Tulsa for one year (2015) since the tournament’s inception in 1997.
This year was notable due to the expansion the conference. Since the Big 12 expanded to 14 teams, the tournament turned into a 12-team, single elimination format. The top four seeds received byes.
