Back and forth regarding Dave Portnoy on Big Noon Kickoff continues. As the show heads to Ames for Saturday’s Cy-Hawk game against Iowa, Portnoy and the Barstool crew will be there. Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard even sent out a tweet inviting Portnoy to the city, taking a shot at Ohio State along the way.

“Iowa State is not Ohio State – Dave Portnoy and ⁦@barstoolsports⁩ will be live from the Reiman Plaza Saturday as part of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff,” Pollard said via X.

Ohio State AD Ross Bjork had an opportunity to give a live reaction to the tweet. He was not sure what Pollard “means” but claims the two are great friends. Bjork also added more information on the situation involving Portnoy not being allowed inside Ohio Stadium for the Texas game.

“You really need to ask FOX,” Bjork said via Front Office Sports Today. “The thing is, we never had to react to anything because FOX said ‘This is exactly what we’re going to do.’ And we said, ‘Okay, great. We’ll see you guys on Saturday, we’ll see you guys on game day.’ So, I haven’t seen that tweet. Jamie, he’s a good friend, I’ve known him for a long time. So, I’ll have to check out what he means by ‘Iowa State is not Ohio State.'”

Pollard later went on to retweet something of Portnoy, explaining where Barstool’s pregame show will be set up beforehand. You can tell Iowa State is excited to have the whole crew in town, likely giving Iowa State a ton of social media throughout.

As for Bjork, there appears to be a conversation on the way with one of his friends. And for now, there is no scheduled matchup between Iowa State and Ohio State on the 2025 schedule. Maybe somewhere down the road.

Dave Portnoy, Big 12 reportedly in discussion of working together

Brett Yormark and the Big 12 want in on Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports as a whole. According to Ross Dellenger, the conference’s decision-makers are offering the controversial pundit a “blank canvas” for engagement across their league’s campuses.

“Interesting: Brett Yormark and Big 12 ADs held a 40-minute call today with Dave Portnoy, offering him a ‘blank canvas’ of engagement opportunities and emphasizing their full support of integrating the Barstool brand across league campuses, starting this week with Iowa State-Iowa,” Dellenger posted on X.
