Sawyer Robertson puts playing in Penn State White Out game on his bucket list of games to play

Once a year, Penn State fans dressed in white pack Beaver Stadium for the football team’s “White Out” game. While the sight of thousands of roaring Nittany Lions fans would intimidate many players, Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson claims he’d love to play in the hostile atmosphere.
In an interview with ESPN’s Greg McElroy, Robertson said the game is on “the bucket list” and referred to the atmosphere as “other-worldly.” Although Penn State fans might like to hear Robertson be a bit more intimidated by the idea of playing in a White Out, they should also be honored.
Robertson began his career at Mississippi State, where he played two seasons. Naturally, Robertson experienced some of the most iconic home-field advantages while playing in the SEC. Yet, he pointed to Penn State’s White Out as a game he’d most like to play in.
Penn State isn’t on Baylor’s schedule this season, but Robertson should have plenty of other opportunities to perform in big-time matchups. After all, there will be no shortage of eyes on Baylor’s QB1 this fall.
Last season, Robertson took over Baylor’s starting spot behind center three games into the season and never looked back. Robertson finished the season with 3,071 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, compared to just eight interceptions.
He also amassed 230 yards and four touchdowns in the ground game. Arizona State‘s Sam Leavitt has received the most attention of any Big 12 quarterback this offseason, but Robertson has quietly been building buzz as well.

Greg McElroy named Robertson the No. 8 quarterback in the country this year. If all goes well for Robertson in the upcoming season, he’ll certainly be in the NFL Draft conversation next summer.
“If you want a dude that’s going to come out of nowhere, it’s [Robertson]. He’s what everyone wants [Penn State‘s] Drew Allar to be,” an AFC South area scout told ESPN’s Matt Miller. “Big, big arm, and he can move.”
Robertson won’t have any ramp-up games this year. Baylor is kicking off its 2025 season with a Week 1 showdown against Auburn. In the following week, the Bears will face off against the SMU Mustangs, who earned a bid to the College Football Playoff last season. Sawyer Robertson isn’t shying away from the challenge.
“It’s gonna kind of set the standard for the season. We want to send a message and so, we’re looking to do that, especially in a prime time Friday night matchup,” Robertson said of the Auburn game. “… In years past, we obviously had the talent, but now it’s we’ve got multiple guys in each room that can step up when their numbers called and go out there and make plays when they when they need to.”
