SEC announces 2024 preseason All-SEC teams in softball, projected conference winner

With the 2024 season fast approaching, the Southeastern Conference has announced its preseason All-SEC softball team and picks to win the league, as voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches.
Tennessee was picked as the team to win the league, though it was a close vote. The Volunteers picked up a total of 137 points in the voting, while Georgia was right behind with 136 points.
Both teams received six first-place votes. Florida, which finished seventh in the league projections, received the final first-place vote.
The SEC coaches also voted on a 24-person preseason All-SEC team, which wound up including members from 10 different programs. Tennessee led the way with five selections, while Georgia and LSU both had four selections. Auburn, Florida, Kentucky and Missouri each had two selections.

The Preseason All-SEC Softball Team consists of a minimum of 21 players and no ties are broken.
SEC teams are slated to begin the 2024 softball season on Thursday, February 8, with conference play set to begin on Friday, March 8. The 2024 SEC Softball Tournament is scheduled for May 7-11 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Ala.
