Six schools made postseason in all major sports during 2024-25

Six teams were able to lay claim to having made the postseason in all major college sports. This includes men’s and women’s basketball, football, volleyball, softball and baseball.
To qualify for this list, the school must have been bowl eligible during the college football season. They don’t have to have qualified for the College Football Playoff. Elsewhere, each school must have appeared in the NCAA Tournament in each of the major sports. In the end, six schools made the final list. Here’s who made the cut:
Texas Longhorns
Texas earned a No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA baseball tournament on Monday in Jim Schlossnagle’s first season with the Longhorns. They’re expected to make a deep run in the tournament, just as their softball team is doing right now having punched their ticket to the Women’s College World Series over the weekend.
The football team has experienced a resurgence under head coach Steve Sarkisian, and was one win away from playing for a national championship this past season. Meanwhile, the women’s basketball team has continued its dominance under head coach Vic Schaefer having made the Final Four for the first time since 2003. The volleyball team also made it to the regional stage of the NCAA Tournament, while the men’s basketball program was able to find its way into the field of 68 despite being on the bubble toward the end of the season.
Tennessee Volunteers

Karlyn Pickens and her wicked fastball emphatically pitched Tennessee to the Women’s College World Series over the weekend. Tony Vitello’s baseball Vols, who won the national title last season, will hope to match that patch after hosting the Knoxville Regional later this week.
Meanwhile, the football program was a part of the first ever 12-team College Football Playoffs, the men’s basketball team was a part of the Elite Eight and the women’s basketball finished in the Sweet 16. However, Tennessee was winless in the volleyball tournament.
Oregon Ducks
Just as Texas did in the SEC, Oregon had to adjust to a brand new conference for each respective season. They did so and then some. Notably, Texas, Tennessee and Oregon not only made the postseason in each major sport — but they also made the College Football Playoffs.
As the Ducks dominated the Big Ten in football, the volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball teams have all done their part as well. Oregon is one of 16 baseball teams set to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament, while the softball team is headed to the Women’s College World Series. Both basketball programs and volleyball team each were able to find enough success to make their respective tournaments as well.

Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma’s first season in the SEC, just like rival Texas, was successful across the board in these major sports based on their postseason presence. The softball team is currently attempting to win its fifth consecutive national championship — an unprecedented feat if they can accomplish it. OU’s baseball program is set to head to the Chapel Hill Regional this weekend.
Both men’s and women’s basketball programs saw their seasons come to an end against both UConn squads in the NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, the volleyball team was able to make the NCAA Tournament as well, but was unable to make it past the Pittsburgh Regional. For the Sooners’ football squad, they finished 6-7 during its 2024 season and 2-6 against its competition. Despite this, they were just able to qualify for bowl contention.
North Carolina Tar Heels

North Carolina was in jeopardy of not making this list when Selection Sunday rolled around for Hubert Davis and the men’s basketball program. In the end, the selection committee put the Tar Heels into the final field of 68, and they even won their game in the First Four. The football program also nearly missed out on the postseason, however, winning six games during the regular season.
Meanwhile, there was no question whether the women’s basketball team would make the tournament. They finished as a No. 3-seed in the tournament, making it to the Sweet 16 before being eliminated. Elsewhere in the athletics department, the volleyball team made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the softball team made the postseason for the first time since 2019, and the baseball team is set to host the Chapel Hill Regional later this weekend.
Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss will have a busy upcoming weekend having punched their ticket to the 2025 Women’s College World Series in softball, while at the same time, fans unable to attend the event in OKC still have the opportunity to watch the Rebels baseball team as they host the Oxford Regional.
The Rebels’ collective performance on the diamond rounds out the school’s flawless postseason attendance record for the 2024-25 college sports calendar. Ole Miss rounded out its third 10-win season in four years under head coach Lane Kiffin, while the men’s and women’s basketball teams both made it to the Sweet 16 of their respective NCAA Tournaments. The volleyball team won a game in its NCAA Tournament as well.
