Skip Bayless shreds Arch Manning despite win over Oklahoma, mocks QB's wave taunt

As Texas was wrapping up a 23-6 win over Oklahoma, long-time Sooners fan Skip Bayless seemed to be seething. And in the process he took a shot at Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning.
Manning had the better of it in the matchup of high-profile quarterbacks in the Red River Rivalry, outdueling Sooners star John Mateer. Mateer threw three interceptions in the contest, while Manning played clean football.
That made Bayless’ shot at Arch Manning all the more perplexing. Especially given the timing — at the end of the game, when the outcome was clear.
“Arch should wave goodbye to being a high draft pick,” Bayless wrote on Twitter. “He’s just not good enough to live up his last name. There was a reason he couldn’t beat out 7th-round pick Quinn Ewers for two years.”
He was good enough to win on Saturday. Despite facing immense criticism of his performance this season, Arch Manning delivered on arguably the biggest stage for Texas. Oklahoma had entered unbeaten.
As he worked to seal the Red River Rivalry win, Manning used his legs to make it happen. The Texas quarterback rattled off a 29-yard scramble in the fourth quarter – and he had a message for the Sooners faithful.
As Manning got back up, he waved to the fans in attendance at the Cotton Bowl. It was his way of saying goodbye as Texas used a huge second-half performance to take down No. 6 Oklahoma in the annual rivalry game in Dallas.

Manning had a strong showing as he threw for 166 yards and a touchdown while adding 34 rushing yards. But it was the 29-yard scramble that set helped officially seal the monumental victory.
That one will certainly help change the narrative around Arch Manning a bit. He continues to work behind a pretty shoddy offensive line — he took six sacks in a loss to Florida last week — but is doing his best to make the most of it.
Manning entered the day with 1,151 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. He had also run for five scores.
Any time you can make an Oklahoma fan like Skip Bayless stew over it, it’s a good day. Job done for Arch Manning.
