Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman commits to Houston

Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman has committed to Houston, sources tell On3. The former five-star recruit delivers a huge portal win for head coach Willie Fritz entering Year Two with the Cougars.
The former five-star recruit led Texas A&M to its blowout victory of No. 9 Missouri in October, throwing for 276 yards and finishing 18 of 22. A 6-foot-3, 220-pound quarterback, Weigman is 9-4 in 13 career starts. He started four games in 2022 as a true freshman and sustained a season-ending foot injury after a strong four-game start.
He’s thrown for 2,694 career passing yards and 19 touchdowns. Weigman visited Houston on Tuesday. Landing the Texas A&M transfer is a stark change for the Cougars, who land one of their most top-rated players in recent memory. Weigman would have been the No. 2 rated recruit in Houston history had he committed to the Cougars coming out of high school.

Conner Weigman now gets to keep playing inside the state of Texas. Houston is less than 30 minutes from the quarterback’s hometown of Cypress. Missouri was another school that was viewed in the mix for Weigman, but he quickly identified Houston.
Houston finished Year One under Fritz with a 4-8 mark, failing to become bowl-eligible. Fritz was hired after finding success at Tulane. The Cougars open the 2025 season on Aug. 30 against Stephen F. Austin.
