Trips to the Women’s College World Series are on the line, as teams from across the country participate in Super Regionals. One of the most intense matchups thus far has been between the Texas Longhorns and Arkansas Razorbacks, as the two old-school rivals are currently tied at one game apiece.

Texas got the win on Friday night, forcing a Game 3 in the Fayetteville Super Regional. First pitch for Saturday’s important rubber match has been released, as the Longhorns and Razorbacks will get underway at 3:00 p.m. ET. ESPN will broadcast the matchup as well, with the winner heading to Oklahoma City.

Arkansas was able to take Game 1 in relatively easy fashion, getting a 7-1 at home. Third baseman Hannah Gammill was able to knock in two runs for the Razorbacks in addition to her 3-for-4 night. The Razorbacks wanted to get the Super Regional over as quickly as possible after their opening matchup win.

However, Texas was able to battle in Game 2 and earn a 3-1 win. Two solo home runs would have been enough for the Longhorns but Katie Cimusz started the scoring with an RBI double in the third inning. If Saturday afternoon is going to result in a win, some more offense will have to come out of the Texas bats.

A little bit more might be on the line for Arkansas, as they have never been to the Women’s Collge World Series. This marks just the third Super Regional the program has ever made, with the first being in 2018. Making it to Oklahoma City would be a huge accomplishment for the Razorbacks.

As for Texas, it’s been nearly a decade since a WCWS appearance. Additionally, there is no national championship attached to the program. Getting a Game 3 win could help change their fortune.
