Tim Keenan injury update: Friday availability report reveals latest on Alabama DL vs. Georgia

Alabama and Georgia renew their rivalry in primetime Saturday night in Athens, where the No. 5 Bulldogs are eager to exorcise its demons against the No. 17-ranked Crimson Tide in front of a national audience. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm ET Saturday inside Sanford Stadium, and the game will be televised on ABC.
Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) enters the game as a 2.5-point home favorite over visiting Alabama (2-1, 0-0), with an over-under point total off 53.5, according to BetMGM. That’s a drop in odds after UGA was a 3-point favorite on Thursday. Both teams are coming off their first of two bye weeks of the 2025 season, with the Bulldogs still reveling after its thrilling 44-41 overtime win at No. 15 Tennessee two weeks ago and the Crimson Tide riding a two-game win streak after beating the Big Ten’s Wisconsin 38-14 in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama has dominated the series with Georgia of late, winning two straight and nine nine of the last 10, including the last two played in Athens — a 38-10 loss in 2015 and a 41-30 defeat in 2008, all under former UGA coach Mark Richt. For his part, 10th-year Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart is 1-6 against his former employer, including dropping last year’s game 41-34 in Tuscaloosa.
Ahead of Saturday’s Top 20 SEC showdown, the league released its final availability report Friday evening. Of note, Tim Keenan is off the injury report and good to go against Georgia.
Alabama Crimson Tide
- DL Jah-Marien Latham – Out
- DL Jeremiah Beaman – Out
- WR Jalen Hale – Out
- TE Danny Lewis Jr. – Probable
Georgia Bulldogs
- TE Ethan Barbour – Out
- OL Malachi Toliver – Out
- WR Thomas Blackshear – Out
- OL Earnest Greene III – Out
Georgia formally ruled out junior right tackle Earnest Greene III in Thursday’s availability report, another hit to the Bulldogs’ beleagured offensive line that hasn’t featured all five starters since the first quarter of the season-opener vs. Marshall. Greene was downgraded to “out” from “doubtful” in Wednesday’s availability report, meaning Georgia’s experienced tackle will miss his fourth straight game with a lingering back injury that’s plagued him all season long.

Alabama has already declared starting defensive end Jah-Marien Latham out after suffering a neck injury earlier this week in practice. Latham, who had complete movement of his extremities, was rushed to a Birmingham hospital following the incident and second-year Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed he’ll be out “for awhile.”
“He’s in Birmingham still,” DeBoer said during Wednesday night’s Hey Coach & The Kalen DeBoer Show. “We got some messages back and stuff and he’s texted me and told me to tell the guys he can’t wait to see them again. He’ll be down for awhile, but he’s got all the feeling and ability to move and everything. So, he’s doing better.”
On the bright side, Alabama’s defensive line is expected to get senior captain Tim Keenan III (ankle), who was listed as “probable” on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s availability reports, as well as senior running back Jam Miller (collarbone), whose name has been absent from the team’s injury reports all week. Keenan’s season debut should help ease the loss of Latham, while Miller’s return should be a boost to Alabama’s struggling rushing attack.
