In the new age of college football, the transfer portal has become a major piece of roster construction. Throughout the college football season, On3 is breaking down the top 10 transfer portal impact players based on weekly performances. Here are the most impactful transfer portal players from Week 7:

1. Colorado QB Kaidon Salter

Liberty transfer quarterback Kaidon Salter tossed two touchdown passes as the Buffaloes knocked off No. 22 Iowa State. Salter threw for 255 yards on the day, including a 70-yard touchdown to Omarion Miller. Salter finished the day 16 of 25 as the Buffaloes picked up their second win over an AP Top 25 team since Deion Sanders arrived in Boulder.

2. Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza

The Cal transfer quarterback has emerged as a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender, and that was on display Saturday at Oregon. Fernando Mendoza threw for 215 yards as Indiana remained undefeated with a 30-20 victory over the Ducks. Mendoza was 20 of 31 passing, including a key fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Elijah Sarratt.

3. Missouri EDGE Damon Wilson

Former Georgia transfer Damon Wilson had his best game yet at Missouri against Alabama. The pass rusher posted two sacks and had a fumble recovery against the Crimson Tide. He finished the game with two hits and a hurry. He’s up to 27 pressures on the season.

4. Utah QB Devon Dampier

Devon Dampier looked the healthiest he’s been in weeks as he rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries, averaging 12 yards per carry. The New Mexico transfer appeared to be ready for the back half of the season after the bye week. He became the first Utes quarterback to rush for more than 100 yards since Travis Wilson against Oregon in 2015 in the 42-10 win over Arizona State.

5. UCLA QB Nico Iamaleava

UCLA picked up its second straight win after dropping the first four games of the season. A big part of that has been Tennessee transfer quarterback Nico Iamaleava. The former five-star recruit was 16 of 24 for 180 yards and three touchdowns in the win. He’s played some of his best football in the wins over Penn State and Michigan State.

6. Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey

Stanford transfer pass rusher David Bailey continues to climb draft boards. On Saturday against Kansas, the 6-foot-3, 250-pound EDGE posted three sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. He’s up to 44 quarterback pressures on the season, including 11 in the win over the Jayhawks.

7. Texas Tech LB Romello Height

The other half of one of the top pass rushes in the nation is Romello Height. The former Auburn, USC and Georgia Tech transfer has emerged as another threat that offensive lines have to worry about. Against the Jayhawks, Height posted six tackles, including two tackles. He had eight quarterback pressures against Kansas and is up to 31 on the season.

8. UNLV QB Anthony Colandrea

Virginia transfer quarterback Anthony Colandrea threw for 361 yards and ran for a 19-yard touchdown with 36 seconds left to give undefeated UNLV a 51-48 victory over Air Force. The UNLV quarterback’s performance delivered the Rebels’ sixth consecutive win and kept hopes for a College Football Playoff appearance alive. Colandrea was 20 of 32 passing with three total touchdowns in the win.

9. Nebraska WR Nyziah Hunter

Former Cal transfer wide receiver Nyziah Hunter has emerged as one of Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola’s top targets this season. Against Maryland on Saturday, Hunter had five catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. That included taking a screen pass 64 yards for a touchdown. He leads Nebraska in receiving yards on the season with 415.

10. USC S Bishop Fitzgerald

Former NC State transfer safety Bishop Fitzgerald has emerged as one of the top defensive backs in the nation this season. Fitzgerald posted five tackles, including a sack with two interceptions against Michigan over the weekend. He’s now up to five interceptions in six games.
