Heading into the heart of the high school football calendar over the next few months, a majority of the top cornerback recruits in the country are already committed to a program.

Of the top 20 players at the position in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, 11 already have their names attached to a school’s commit list. We’re sure to see that fluctuate as more commitments, flips and decommitments happen, but it’s an interesting development nonetheless.

Below are the top committed CBs in the cycle, as USC leads the way with three pledges among the top 10 players at the position.

Jorden Edmonds – Alabama

School: Sprayberry (Ga.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 17
Scout’s Take (UA Atlanta camp): “Edmonds turned in a stellar showing at Under Armour Atlanta. The corner and defensive back groups were the deepest on hand and Edmonds was the clear top performer of the bunch. The 6-foot-2.5, 175-pounder flashed outstanding fluidity throughout the workout. He made easy work of position drills and was great during the 1-on-1 period. Edmonds took a bunch of 1-on-1 reps and gave up very little through the air. He got things going with a pass breakup against On300 wide receiver Nalin Scott. Edmonds had no issue sticking with shifty wide receivers in the slot, effortlessly flipping his hips while moving at high speeds. He later came down with an interception while defending a wheel route, doing a great job of turning to locate the football. Edmonds’ combination of size, elite length, fluidity, and ball skills made him an easy choice for the On3 MVP.”

RJ Sermons – USC

School: Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 28
About: Scout’s Take: “RJ Sermons checks in as On3’s top-rated cornerback prospect at this point in the cycle. The USC commit has a strong case as the most technically polished coverman in 2026. Sermons has elite feet and change of direction. He thoroughly impressed On3 last offseason, turning in a very clean workout at Under Armour’s Future 50 event. While Sermons missed around half of his junior season with injury, the skill set checks out on film. He has good size and speed at 6-foot, 185 pounds, with a 10.72-second mark in the 100 meters. While we’d like to see more ball production, we saw few, if any passes completed in his direction, all while maintaining strong, in-phase coverage.”

Elbert Hill – USC

School: Archbishop Hoban (Ohio)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 35
About: The top-ranked recruit in Ohio and nation’s No. 35 prospect overall chose the Trojans over Oregon, Alabama and Ohio State State among others on May 2. He also said he is shutting down his recruitment and will not take official visits to any program other than USC.

Havon Finney – LSU

School: Sierra Canyon (Calif.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 56
About: LSU beat out Southern Cal, Michigan, Oregon and more for Finney, who reclassified from the 2027 class into the current 2026 class earlier this offseason. He was previously ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in the rising junior class.

Brandon Lockhart – USC

School: Loyola (Calif.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 58
Scouting Report: “Lockhart locked down his side of the field on Sunday. The On300 prospect first came down with a strong pass breakup in the end zone, turning his head and finding the ball en route to making a play. He later came down with one of the more impressive picks we saw on the day, tracking and coming down with the the football in a crowd while defending a vertical route. The USC pledge’s ball skills and awareness in coverage stood out.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting (3/23/2025)

Zyan Gibson – Alabama

School: Gadsden City (Ala.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 63
Scouting Report: “Zyan Gibson had a good workout at Under Armour Atlanta. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder’s quickness and refined footwork in drills caught our eye. Gibson showed a smooth and easy backpedal and was able to fire out and break on the ball at a high level. The Alabama pledge held up well in the 1-on-1 reps we caught. One of his highlights came when defending a wheel route early on in the period. Gibson read the route and stayed in the receiver’s hip pocket downfield, making the forced incompletion look easy.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting (2/10/2025)

Caden Harris – Vanderbilt

School: Haywood (Tenn.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 82
Scouting Report: “Harris turned in a stellar showing at Under Armour Nashville, locking down every wide receiver we saw him face on the afternoon. The 6-foot, 170-pounder was dominant during 1-on-1’s and at times appeared to be running the routes for opposing receivers. Harris showed smooth, refined movements in coverage. He effortlessly stayed in phase while defending a variety of routes. The Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood standout lived inside the hip pockets of wide receivers, leaving little doubt he was the On3 MVP by the end of the event. We also liked what we saw from Harris in drills. The technical polish is advanced for most corners at this stage.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting (3/30/2025)

Victor Singleton – Texas A&M

School: Central Catholic (Ohio)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 89
About: Singleton was at one time committed to Illinois and considered to be one of Bret Bielema’s biggest recruiting wins to date. But not even three full months after he pledged to the Illini, the No. 60 recruit in the On300 jumped ship to join the Aggies. He is now one of the crown jewels of Mike Elko’s top-5 recruiting class in 2026.

CJ Bronaugh – Nebraska

School: Windermere (Fla.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 103
Scouting Report:Scout’s Take: “CJ Bronaugh is one of the fastest prospects in the cycle. I think he would contend as the fastest prospect we’ve seen to this point in the cycle, at least among blue-chip types. State champion in the 100 and 200-meters and has already ran a 10.3 time in the 100-meters as a junior. In addition to the high-end speed, he played really well as a junior, came down with six interceptions and looks to have solid size. You look at his elite athleticism, combined with the ball skills, those are attributes we value at the corner position.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Jaelen Waters – Miami

School: Armwood (Fla.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 135
Notable Quote: “Coach Cristobal is from Miami, he played at Miami and he is getting the program back to the top. I have talked to some players, I hear what they say and I love what is going on there. The coaches relate to the players, you see all the recruits they are getting and people want to be a part of the program.” – Jaelen Waters on his commitment (03/08/2025)
