Ty Simpson injury update: Alabama QB limps to sideline during third quarter vs. Missouri

Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson appeared to suffer an injury early in the third quarter against Missouri. Simpson took a hit and fumbled the ball, which Missouri recovered.
He remained on the ground afterward but limped to the bench. Simpson was surrounded by training staff on the bench as Missouri quickly capitalized with a touchdown. Despite the scare, Simpson made his way back in the game for the following drive.
ESPN sideline reporter Katie George revealed that Simpson, who got sandwiched on the sack by two Tigers defenders, was favoring his midsection on the sideline. Despite this, he wouldn’t miss a single play for the Crimson Tide after the injury scare.
The fumble allowed Missouri to tie the game at 17 in the opening minutes of the second half, turning what could have been a possible two-score lead for Alabama into a brand new ball game in the third quarter.
Simpson’s passing numbers weren’t eye-popping in the first half before the hit, but was still responsible for throwing Alabama’s two touchdowns on the afternoon. One of those touchdown strikes was a laser to Isaiah Horton for a 16-yard touchdown. Simpson looked off the safety and led Horton right past the Missouri cornerback for the impressive score.
Fans can catch what appears to be an exciting finish to this SEC matchup live on ABC. Missouri is looking to remain undefeated on the season with a victory, while the Crimson Tide are trying to win its third game in a row over a ranked opponent.
