USC players take exception to Nebraska players on midfield logo in pregame

Nebraska and USC got into a bit of a pregame scuffle Saturday afternoon. Huskers players walked right to midfield and stood on USC’s logo.
So, that prompted a response from from Trojans’ players and analysts. While it appears there were no punches thrown, there was a lot of jawing.
The new Big Ten matchup is off to a fiery start. You can see the mosh pit below.
On the field, not the scuffle, the actual game, Nebraska and USC have an intriguing matchup. The Huskers brought in new OC Dana Holgorsen under Matt Rhule this week.
It was a big shakeup ahead of Nebraska’s game against USC, but one Rhule was willing to make to get back in the win column.
“Obviously, he’s called a lot of games and the games he called as a head coach, obviously, he was always on the field,” Rhule said. “Probably, nowadays with the new play sheet, new words, it would be easier to be in the box. But I think he’s still working through all that. I think we have a decision but I don’t want to say it in case he changes his mind.”

Nebraska’s offense isn’t the only one that changed, USC’s did going from QB Miller Moss to Jayden Maiava.
After the news of the change broke, Maiava had the opportunity to speak to the media. There, he shared his mindset after being named the USC starting quarterback.
“Let’s practice,” Jayden Maiava said. “Let’s go out there and start getting reps in. Obviously, Miller was getting the ones’ reps and, obviously, it’s a change at the quarterback position. So, I’ve just got to build that relationship with the receivers and be more vocal and just be better for everybody.”
