Former Virginia center Kadin Shedrick has only been in the transfer portal for one day, but that hasn’t stopped a host of schools from expressing interest in him already. On3’s Joe Tipton reported Tuesday that over 20 schools have contacted him since he entered the transfer portal on Monday.

Shedrick has spent the last four seasons with Virginia providing them with size at 6-foot-11, 231 pounds, and shot blocking ability that will be a part of another team’s arsenal next season. And it’s clear that many programs across the country are fond of that skillset with so many contacting Shedrick within 24 hours of him entering the transfer portal.

Check out the full list of schools that Shedrick has heard from and shared with On3 below.

It hasn’t been confirmed which of the schools, if any of them, have offered Shedrick yet. But if they all did, he’d have plenty of options ranging from different programs and conferences across the entire nation.

Big 12 powerhouses like Kansas, Texas, and Kansas State headline Shedrick’s list, joining five listed teams that made this year’s NCAA tournament. There’s also plenty of Big Ten interest in Shedrick with Rutgers, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Northwestern. Four SEC schools have spoken to him as well.

Shedrick redshirted his freshman season, but in the last three years has appeared in 76 games and made 34 starts for the Cavaliers. Last season he averaged 6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game for Virginia, leading the team for a second consecutive season in blocks and ranking within the top five in the ACC.

In high school, Shedrick played at Holly Springs in North Carolina. There he was a four-star prospect ranked No. 65 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He was a highly touted recruit out of high school with over 30 offers, and it seems like he may have to relive that same process now prior to entering the transfer portal. Shedrick was joined in the transfer portal by former freshman teammate Isaac Traudt, another top 100 high school recruit from his respective class. Both former Cavaliers will likely receive plenty of interest this offseason, and it will surely be interesting to see where they end up landing.
