2024 Denton (Texas) Guyer four-star cornerback Eli Bowen demonstrated his capabilities as a defensive back early on in the season opener against Rockwall (Texas) Rockwell-Heath. As an opposing wide receiver reeled in a pass, Bowen took the ball from his hands and raced the other direction for a nearly 40-yard touchdown.

Bowen, the brother of five-star safety and Notre Dame commit Peyton Bowen, is the No. 286 overall prospect and No. 36 cornerback in the 2024 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 43 player from Texas.

His brother, Peyton, had a defensive touchdown of his own tonight as well. Peyton Bowen jumped a route and took a pick-six 75 yards to the house. Bowen added a receiving touchdown later in the game from five-star quarterback and Oklahoma commit Jackson Arnold to give Guyer a 46-14 lead.

Bowen has received 13 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Fighting Irish have the highest chance for Bowen’s commitment at 65.1%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Bowen has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13.3K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Bowen had a strong performance at Battle Dallas

Bowen participated in the Battle Dallas event earlier this year. He was one of the showcase’s top performers, according to On3’s Sam Spiegelman.

“Eli Bowen was also fantastic in coverage throughout the weekend at cornerback and is beginning to fill out his frame at 6-foot and 180 pounds,” Spiegelman wrote. “The soon-to-be junior out of Denton (Tex.) Guyer, who collected 10 interceptions last season, also flashed on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver and speedy playmaker with the ball in his hands.”
