While he isn’t likely to be the NBA-altering prospect that his father was, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. looked every bit a future star at the McDonald’s All American Game on Tuesday. While he didn’t take home MVP, he shone through by splashing home five 3s.

As the only uncommitted prospect at the game, it will surely have potential suitors even hotter on his tail to secure his services, even if only for a season. But before anything else after the game, it was time to greet family.

With the Los Angeles Lakers off on Tuesday night, LeBron James was in attendance to watch his son showcase his talents. And after, they shared an impressive handshake.

LeBron James played in the McDonald’s All American Game some 20 years ago, winning MVP at the 2003 edition with a performance that was but one piece of his fledgling legend.

While no one stole the show on Tuesday, a quintet of 3s and an overall solid showing are plenty enough to show that while he might not be his dad, Bronny James is plenty capable on the court.

And it got dad hype.

In the first quarter of the game, James opened fire from beyond the arc for the West team and made it count. He fired another bucket in just minutes later from deep downtown, both of which brought instant praise from LeBron sitting courtside.

You can check out his first bucket below, followed by the deep shot.

And as the lone unsigned prospect at the event, others were not shy to try and recruit Bronny James to their squad.

USC signee Isaiah Collier, the nation’s top-rated player, admitted as much on the live broadcast.

“I mean it’s only one person uncommitted and y’all should know who that is, so we’re trying to make it happen,” Collier said.

Where is Bronny James headed?

On the big stage on Tuesday night, Bronny James is the lone uncommited prospect in the game. A handful of schools already boast multiple McDonald’s All-American game commitments.

But James remains uncommitted, one of the nation’s top prospects.

According to the On3 Consensus recruiting rankings, James checks in as the No. 27 overall player in the class. He’s also ranked as the No. 5 combo guard in the class.

But On3 itself is actually substantially higher on James as a prospect than the rest of the industry. On3 has James as a five-star prospect and the No. 9 overall player in the country in his class.

The current recruiting prediction machine has James projected to Ohio State with a 95.5% projection rate.
