WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at Twitter emoji watch being on high following USC’s massive recruiting weekend, numerous Trojan legends gathering at Salute to Troy on Saturday night, and one notable recruit cancelling his USC visit at the last minute.

Emoji Watch on High

Following USC’s mega-recruiting weekend, emoji watch on Twitter is officially on high.

On Sunday, USC tweeted out three Fight On emojis, implying that three recruits committed over the weekend. One of these was likely for offensive lineman Amos Talalele, who announced his commitment earlier today following his official visit this past weekend. However, we are still waiting to see who the other two emojis are for

USC’s 2023 class currently ranks third in the country with ten total commits. Of these commits, seven are on the offensive side of the ball.

Legends Gather at Salute to Troy

USC brought back its annual Salute to Troy rally on Saturday evening, and the stars certainly came out.

Numerous former USC Football stars were in attendance at the event. The guest list included the likes of Matt Leinart, LenDale White, Willie McGinest, Shaun Cody, Marcus Allen, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Drake London.

This marked USC’s first in-person Salute to Troy since 2018. In 2019 and 2021, the event was cancelled due to a lack of fan interest in the program. USC did hold the event in 2020, but it was virtual due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

One Cancelled Visit

While USC hosted 24 recruits on campus this weekend, offensive lineman/defensive lineman Terrance Green was not one of them.

Green was looking forward to attending the Trojans’ mega-recruiting weekend events. However, during the middle of last week, Green received word from USC that they were full at his position. Hence, Green decided to cancel his trip and visit his hometown school of Texas instead. The Longhorns are currently the heavy favorite to land the lineman.

Terrance Green made a last-minute decision to visit Texas instead of USC.

Green is a native of Cypress, Texas. On3 Consensus currently rates him as a four-star prospect, and the number 265 overall player in the class of 2023.
