Week 13 game previews: Josh Pate predicts marquee matchups in college football
Just two weeks remain in the college football regular season. Races are coming down the stretch for both conference championships and the College Football Playoff. While a ton of eyes are on rivalry week, some interesting Week 13 games are set to be played.
Tuesday’s episode of Josh Pate’s College Football Show decided to preview some of them. He even attached a prediction to them, giving his overall thoughts on who would wind up winning.
One game takes place out West, while the biggest winner of Week 12 enters another big-time matchup. Let’s check out the full coverage from Pate, first going to Eugene.
USC at Oregon
How about this for a little old-school Pac-12 action? USC heads up to Autzen Stadium for just the second time in a decade. Plenty is on the line Saturday night, mainly when looking at the College Football Playoff. The Trojans likely come in as the hotter team but Pate is picking against them.

“I still think Oregon’s best game is still ahead of them,” Pate said. “Now, I’m going to roll the dice a little bit and say it happens Saturday… I could see USC winning the game. What do I think is more likely? I think it’s more likely Oregon wins the game… I don’t think blowout.”
Missouri at Oklahoma
“You shut down Missouri’s run, you shut down the game,” Pate said. “Can you? Because I’m not sure you’re going to shut it down. I don’t think Ahmad Hardy is going for 300 in the game but I don’t think you’re going to totally shut it down.”
Pate sees this as the complete opposite of the Alabama game for Oklahoma. Looking to stop the run and force Missouri to make plays with whoever is in at quarterback. This might lead to a low-scoring game, one he eventually sees the Sooners winning.
