On3 released its first full ranking of the 2025 recruiting class on Monday, and with it came a handful of new five-star prospects and a host of new names to watch over the next 18 months or so.

Early on the in the 2025 cycle, the same big four recruiting hubs — Texas, Florida, California and Georgia — have a big jump on the rest of the country, but there a number of surprises down the list when it comes to talent-producing states. Ohio, Virginia, Mississippi and Tennessee have strong talent crops early on, while a few other locales that typically produce elite recruits are down this year.

Without further ado, here are where the top 300 prospects in the 2025 On300 hail from; states with zero prospects are not listed.

Texas – 54

Top overall recruit: DL Michael Riles
The Skinny: The Lone Star State continues to reign supreme over the high school football recruiting world. After pushing out more than 50 top-300 prospects in 2023, Texas is on pace to do similar numbers in 2024 and 2025.

Florida – 39

Top overall recruit: DL Armondo Blount
The Skinny: Florida has taken a bit of a step back in terms of production over the past few years, but sits second behind Texas this cycle.

(Note: Prospects who play at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy are listed in their home states.)

Georgia – 30

Top overall recruit: DL Elijah Griffin
The Skinny: It will be hard for Georgia to top its 2024 class, which boasts the second-most top-300 prospects of any state in the country. But the 2025 talent has some legit top-end talent, even if the class isn’t quite as deep.

California – 29

Top overall recruit: LB Nasir Wyatt
The Skinny: After a down year in 2023, the 2024 cycle looks strong in California. And the same can be said for 2025, with a number of elite prospects inside the state’s borders.

Alabama – 14

Top overall recruit: WR Ryan Williams
The Skinny: Outside of the big four, Alabama has continued to establish itself as a gold mine for talented prospects. The Yellowhammer State had 19 top-300 prospects in the 2023 class and could get close to that number when all is said and done in 2025.

Tennessee – 11

Top overall recruit: QB George MacIntyre
The Skinny: With the growth of the Nashville area, Tennessee has become an underrated state in terms of top high school football talent. That may no longer be the case with this class being one of the strong there in recent memory.

Louisiana – 10

Top overall recruit: RB Harlem Berry
The Skinny: Louisiana’s 2024 class is less than stellar from a depth standpoint, but the 2025 crop in the boot is a talented and deep one.

Mississippi – 10

Top overall recruit: WR Caleb Cunningham
The Skinny:
Mississippi is one of top NFL talent-producing states per capita in the country, and this cycle looks to be a particularly strong one at the high school level.
