Report: Will Muschamp not listed as part of staff at Georgia

Will Muschamp saw his role shrink this past season on staff at Georgia. He now appears to not have one at all per the latest information out of Athens.
Going into SEC Media Days this week in Atlanta, the Bulldogs released their media guide for the upcoming season. Muschamp, though, does not appear in that guide as part of the team’s coaching staff anymore, per Marc Weiszer at the Athens Banner-Herald on Sunday night.
Muschamp had been coaching with the ‘Dawgs, specifically on their defense, since 2021. He began as a defensive analyst, working with the defensive backs and with special teams, before a year later becoming co-defensive coordinator with Glenn Schumann. However, with Whit Muschamp, his youngest son, becoming a quarterback at Vanderbilt, Muschamp went back to an analyst role in his fourth season with the staff in order to work during the weeks and then travel to Nashville for his son’s games with the Commodores on Saturdays.
Muschamp is a former head coach elsewhere in the Southeastern Conference at Florida, going 28-21 (.571) from 2011 through 2014, and South Carolina, being 28-30 (.483) from 2016 through 2020. That brings his career record to 56-51 (.523) with five bowl berths in nine seasons spent as a coach in the SEC. His resumé also includes stops as an assistant and coordinator at Auburn, West Georgia, Eastern Kentucky, LSU, and Texas while in college and the Miami Dolphins for a season in the NFL. Four of those seasons, three in Baton Rouge and the one in Miami, were as a defensive coach under Nick Saban.
Being back between the hedges so far this decade was a return to the alma mater for Muschamp. He appeared in 44 games from 1991 through 1994, with 156 tackles and three interceptions posted, on defense as a safety for Georgia, including being the team captain on defense as a senior in ’94. That senior year was when he also first met two teammates who’d be future coworkers in Kirby Smart and OC Mike Bobo.
Muschamp’s future might be addressed or mentioned this week with the Bulldogs arriving in Atlanta on Tuesday. However, if true that he’s no longer coaching at UGA, Muschamp will have even more time to watch his son’s own college career begin elsewhere in the SEC.

Report: Josh Brock joining radio booth for Georgia Footbal
Georgia is less than seven weeks away from kicking off the season in Athens against Marshall on August 30th. When they do, the Bulldogs’ call on the radio broadcast will have a new, yet familiar, voice in the booth.
Ahead of SEC Media Days this week in Atlanta, Georgia released their media guide for the upcoming season. That featured the inclusion of Josh Brock as the new color analyst next to Scott Howard doing play-by-play for the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network, with Brock taking the place of another alumni in Eric Zeier. This comes per Marc Weiszer at the Athens Banner-Herald on Sunday evening.
Brock played on the offensive line for the ‘Dawgs from 2002 through 2005 in the program’s early seasons under Mark Richt. Georgia went 44-9 during his career spent in the program, including a pair of SEC Championships in 2002 and 2005 and four appearances in bowl games with a win and a loss in the Sugar Bowl in ’02 and ’05 plus wins in the Capital One Bowl in 2003 and the Outback Bowl in 2004. However, with some injuries in his career, Brock would be medically disqualified, with a third concussion suffered, in September of 2005.
Since then, Brock has become a financial advisor in Cartersville, Georgia. He also has radio on his resumé as part of the call-in show titled ‘Bulldogs Live’, a postgame radio show titled ‘Dawg Talk’, and ‘Countdown to Kickoff’ as a sideline reporter for Cartersville High School.
